    Hagen is not the most beautiful of towns. Seems to have fallen on hard times like a lot of towns in an Industrial area of the Country. However as a location to get to other parts of the Ruhr valley it has excellent transport links to the other major towns and cities in the area

    Run down boring city. 60s style. Suffering from underinvestment. Very poor facilities and venues. Untidy and dirty train station. Was there before in 70s. Nothing changed. Definite lack of funding. Resembles East German cities in 90s. A city left behind I think. Will not hurry back 2/10. Nothing that impressed me. Signs of urban degredation. Unfinished works. Road works. Shabby empty buildings. Untidy, unpainted empty shops. Planners require reeducated.

    It was a last minute decision to stay in hotel Lex but it was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice as well. The property is well maintained and has beautiful plants everywhere. We would definitely recommend it :)
