We stayed in Berchtesgaden for 3 full days.
We stayed in Berchtesgaden for 3 full days. It's right in the Bavarian Alps so the views are incredible. Berchtesgaden is a beautiful little town, as are most of the other small towns in Germany and Austria, where our trip took us. You can go to the Konigssee, do a boat tour, hike to the largest waterfall in Germany, or head over to Salzburg, which is only a 15-20 minute drive. Obersalzberg is where we visited.
Obersalzberg is where we visited. The Eagles Nest is a quick visit as it’s just a restaurant and once you’ve seen the view there’s not a lot else. Get there early - it’s a zoo by 11:00am! A beautiful town with amazing mountain views and plenty to do. The guest card gives reductions on a number of attractions and free public transport in the area. Recommended - the Salzberg salt mine, Watzmanntherme (spa), Salzburg day trip, the Obersalzberg documentation centre and Eagle's Nest, Königssee boat trip (and swimming), Hintersee. There are places to eat next to the hotel, but also in the town centre (about 10-15 minutes on foot or free on the bus).Guest review byCarolineGermany
