A fantastic location close to Drake Bay and Corcovado National Park. The family owning the place is doing a great job, the rooms are made every day, the food tastes very good and they give advices and organize tours if requested. All this for a very fair price for the area. I recommend the place to everyone looking for a simple, yet very nice and authentic accommodation.

The staff, the meals, the setting, the birdlife, the beaches, the remoteness of the location. The staff was extremely helpful in organizing trips and boat pickups to go snorkeling and to Corcovado NP. The people were very sweet and helpful. It was our favorite place we stayed in Costa Rica.

We loved our stay here post our overnight in the Corcovado National Park. The room was super clean, great hot shower, comfy bed and a beautiful view over the forest. Tasty dinner too and very friendly staff. Great value for money all around!

Drake Bay is a remote yet breathtaking destination, and our stay at Natural Drake Bay Hotel made our visit truly unforgettable. We spent four nights here as the final leg of our Costa Rica trip, hoping to find a comfortable place that would enhance our experience of this faraway corner of the world. I’m thrilled to say we couldn’t have chosen a better place. Natural Drake Bay is a family-run hotel situated in a stunning location, perched perfectly to offer beautiful views of the bay. Both the pool and restaurant offer stunning views of the bay, creating a mesmerizing scene —at one point, we even saw whales jumping from the water! The beach is also just a 3 minute walk. Patricia, Daniel, and their team, particularly Victor, provide a luxurious experience. Throughout our stay, we felt very well cared for. Everyday, when you arrive, Patricia welcomes you with refreshing, beautifully scented cold towels, which is a wonderful treat after a hot day. Victor then serves the most exquisite fruit juices I’ve ever tasted. Even when activities (Corcovado Park visit, Snorkeling in Caño Island, ….) started at the crack of dawn, they were there to prepare breakfast for you The hotel takes great pride in highlighting local cuisine at dinner, with top quality produce exquisitely cooked. The rooms offer views of the surroundings, which were full of life (Birds, Iguanas, Monkeys) and relaxing in the hammocks was a spectacle in itself. Toucans would perch in the tree next to the cabin, while showering. The toiletries were of high quality, adding to the overall sense of luxury. In summary, Natural Drake Bay Hotel provided us with an exceptional experience, combining comfort, natural beauty, and warm hospitality.

We had amazing two nights at Greenleaf. The family-run business provides absolutely clean rooms with an amazing view, with monkeys, tucans and hummingbirds right in front of your terrace. They organized limited available tickets for the national park for us, which is a must-do. They've also invited us to their local yearly turtle release festival which was simply stunning. And the food is awesome.

This cabin was a lovely place to stay. The owner and the family were so nice, kind and welcoming. They made us a meal so we didn't have to drive anywhere. The cabin has a lovely, private and peaceful deck to sit on. Loved the bathroom with the exposed window. At dawn it was great to hear the birds and monkeys etc. The way the cabins are set out is great, nobody is overlooking anybody and the gardens surrounding them are lush and pretty. It's a little way out of town but that's the beauty of the place. Quiet, pretty, surrounded by nature with some nice walks along the lanes.

Very beautiful and quiet place! Within the jungle, with beautiful trees and flowers, monkeys, different birds and reptiles around. Lake in front with friendly crocodiles. The food was wonderful!! I would love to return one day!!!

The view from the balconies was amazing you could spot animals right from the room. Very clean! The communication with the staff was great they always responded instantly and helped us with tours and whatever question we had. The atmosphere is very familial and cordial.

    Central location, comfortable room.

    Central location, comfortable room. The pool was really lovely to sit near and relax, cool off. Staff was exceptional and helpful in all manners. Receptionist helped me book all of my activities and was super accommodating. The restaurant staff were so friendly, and even remembered my name after I came a few times. Very convenient to have on site. It had everything I coud want and price was reasonable. I already want to go back and will book there again.

    It was very remote.

    It was very remote. We spent three nights there and enjoyed early active mornings and chill afternoons with an early dinner and bedtimes. There's not much to do at night which was fine by us. We loved watching the town wake up in the morning. We went diving at Cano Island and loved the turtles and all of the varieties of fish. The water was so clear when we went, it was one of the better diving experiences in Costa Rica so far!

    Fantastic stay.

    Fantastic stay. Exactly as described except wifi didn't work in our room, we had to go to the office/breakfast area to use it. The views from the room were spectacular overlooking Drake Bay. We had daily visits from capuchins, macaws, parrots, hummingbirds, etc The beds were comfortable as were the chairs and hammocks on the porch. Handrails going up the steep tire steps to the room would have been helpful. The owner went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was delicious and made to order.

    Great place to stay if you want to visit Corcovado national...

    Great place to stay if you want to visit Corcovado national park. Not only Corcovado is worthwhile but Drake Bay itself as well. I would recommend taking the boat from Sierpe to Drake Bay as it’s very convenient and the boat ride is extremely scenic!

    Very nice peaceful place, at the grounds of a friendly costarican family, right on the edge of the rainforest. Beautiful Ganadito beach is at walking distance. The cabin where we slept was new and fine.

    The flora and fauna of adjacent parks is amazing but you...

    The flora and fauna of adjacent parks is amazing but you must visit them with a guide for the appropriate access and to really appreciate what is there. Drake is a the ideal place from which to reach the parks. We travelled to Drake Bay by intercity bus from San Jose and connected with the ferry. The "wet landing" was a first for us - a genuine adventure where the ferry assistants wade your luggage to shore on their shoulders and the passengers just focus on getting themselves to shore. The ferry takes an hour or so through amazing mangroves. Make sure to tell your hotel to book you on the ferry to avoid misunderstanding -- there are only two ferries per day and you don't want to lose a day/night in Sierpe. The park is amazing --book a tour well in advance as daily entries are limited. Access to the park is by boat. Birds galore, several species of monkey including the mighty howler, tapirs, two species of ant eater, and many more creatures. We did the snorkeling tour too which was also amazing. We saw deep sea turtles, sharks, manta rays and a plethora of species of fish. Beautiful, pristine and rules about not interrupting wildlife. For example, we were watching a turtle and she started to rise for air and we all had to move back 4-6 metres and we had the joy of then watching her float on the surface for a while and just rock in the waves.     Comfortable property in beautiful gardens in a quiet part of Drake Bay. Helpful staff who looked after our luggage when we went on an overnight trip to the Sirena station. Responsive to messages and helpful with booking our boat spaces from Sierpe and back. The rooms were large and had AC and fridges - both appreciated in the hot and humid weather.

    We got a simple room with a drake bay view. In our room no AC but a fan, was ok. All was ok, especially the host super friendly and helpful. Breakfast could be served upon request. You can use the common room, kitchen, fridge. Also the food in the local restaurant was very good. Beach and place to buy beer is nearby, minutes away.
