I loved the fact that’s it’s a resort but it’s in the nature and not crowded, like a boutique resort. Wonderful room, amazing view, nice environment and atmosphere. Good breakfast with a view. You can hike to waterfalls from the hotel, inside the resort ! And there is a little farm with animals, my child loved it. Not far away from the airport so that’s very convenient when we arrive/depart from San Jose and there are plenty of things to do around, including visiting the volcan Poas.

The place is clean, and very cozy it really feels like home. The host was amazing, always friendly and attentive. The location is very central, so everything is close by, and the airport shuttle service was a huge plus, super convenient. I would definitely recommend it and would stay here again without a doubt.

We were very happy to stay at this lovely small hotel with a beautiful garden and friendly hosts 🌸 The spacious, well-kept garden is wonderful, with funny rabbits freely hopping around🥰 Everything is very clean, and the breakfast and dinner were delicious. Best stay in Costa Rica. New fridge in room, good size., 3 touch-on table lamps, 2 ceiling fans plus a/c.. Great breakfast organization with many choices including cereal, fruit, ham, cheese. Just a wonderful stay. Beautiful paintings in public areas and in rooms. Found out that the artist is the owner Adriana, who was on the desk.

    I was there one night because it was close to the airport. I would not hang out there for a significant length of time. Not a good place to be after dark. Also came across a suitcase on a sidewalk. It had obviously been stolen and rummaged through.

    Just a medium sized town with everything you need.

    Just a medium sized town with everything you need. There is a Wal Mart, Denny's and lots of other restaurants, stores and cafes. There is not a lot to see in the town for tourists, but it is easy to get into San Jose where you can get a bus to Jaco which has a great beach. You can walk into the town easily and it felt very safe, but I recommend taking the local bus. I would only go here to get to another place, but for a day or 2 it is a nice town to visit.

    San Jose and the area around the airport doesn't have much to recommend it beyond getting in and out of the country. After driving around for two hours to see the highlights, we agreed we couldn't get out of the city fast enough. We ate at the Taj Mahal location near the hotel (had come highly recommended as we'd heard it was the best Indian food around and was an iconic location with peacocks walking around, etc), but the airport location is just an open air restaurant in a strip mall next door to a Starbucks.

    Alajuela was central for us as we visited La Paz the first...

    Alajuela was central for us as we visited La Paz the first day and it was an easy drive back after hiking up and down to see the waterfall and gardens at La Paz. Served as a good jumping off point the next day for a visit to downtown Sam Jose, the National Theater, the museum and central market.

    Alajuela has everything I like in a city without much down side. It's clean and safe with many markets, shops, malls, transportation options, green spaces and restaurants. It even has a large dance school.

    We spent 30 days in Costa Rica and loved it.

    We spent 30 days in Costa Rica and loved it. Alajuela was only for flying to and from Costa Rica. It has horrible traffic and nothing worth seeing that I know of. But its airport has better flight connections for us than Liberia airport. The airport itself is good, but getting in and out is a hassle!

    I was looking for a Costa Rica small business owned hotel, surrounded by nature. I found Pibi Boreal and its owners and I couldn’t recommend it more. They go above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, the private deck and the breakfast with the view of the Alajuela lush nature is fantastic, and they make sure that we make it in time to our flight.

    Very nice, calm location near airport, with nice patio. Really convenient for first and last day of our trip around Costa Rica.     Close to the airport. Comfy beds. Decent breakfast. Didn't try the pool so can't comment. Great if you need a night near the airport. Restaurant in hotel with limited menu. Denny's a matter of steps away, not the best meal we've had in Costa Rica but certainly the most expensive!

    Very close to the airport. Room was simple but comfortable for an evening arrival for an early morning flight. The staff were very helpful. It’s cheap compared to most of the hotels around. Uber Eats delivers if you don’t fancy the Italian restaurant on site.
