Beautiful city.
Beautiful city. Since it was my first trip to Colombia I stayed about 2 weeks in Manizales, I needed to get my bearings and learn to take the buses, the money, etc. I got tired of being in the city and when I discovered how gorgeous the country around it is, I took off to some of the parks, springs and smaller towns. It is an extremely scenic area, even the city, with makes SanFrancisco look flat. It's at the top of a mountain. The people are unbelievably nice and polite! Loved it. Don't miss the cathedral. Manizales is an amazing city - it is very safe, clean and beautiful scenery. It is one of the safest cities I have traveled to in the world, without feeling nervous at anytime. I feel safer in Manizales than many cities in the United States and Europe.
