Guilin's natural beauty is unquestionable, but the city has to upgrade its facilities such as free wi-fi covering main transportation entries in the city. It is a city with rich cultural and historical heritage, but we cannot see much of the cultural activities. There is a grand building( theatre) beside the Jiefang bridge, which costs 100 million RMB to build, is empty. The public transportation has no electrical display of stops. This street is a street I visited, Shijiayuan Road, there are many snacks, etc. Opposite the hotel is Elephant Trunk Hill, Two Rivers and Four Lakes, which is very suitable for walking and taking pictures. guilin is a famous tourist attraction, things to do include a river cruise, visits of the rice terraces, tea plantation, seven star park, or a river walk around sun&moon twin. might be rather crowded in high tourist season. be aware of the e-scooters, which are just everywhere and don't follow the traffic rules. besides this, it's save to walk, also on ones own, even at night. if you don't speak chinese, find a travel guide, who makes the booking and organises the tickets for you.Guest review byElly MonikaGermany - 6.0

Guilin is a city and all the cruise to Yangshuo starts here. Guilin has lively night shopping area and full of restaurants. It has a lake and it is ok to walk around at night and look at the pagodas. There is a famous cave nearby. I personally find Guilin to be good for overnight stay to catch the cruise ship to Yangshuo but I will not stay longer to explore the city.Guest review bycelineUnited Kingdom - 10.0

People like tranquil and beautiful sceneries will love to visit Guilin. Also, the local food streets give you big selection of food selection. An outstanding restaurant I would like to bring it up is, Ah Kim Chinese restaurant. View from the room is great too! I stayed in 2 shangri-la hotels in this trip but Guilin Shangri-la is next level compared to the other one.
