We hired a scooter from a local rental company (Rino’s is best) which allowed us easy access to this stunning property, located in one of the most amazing parts of the island! The house is modern, clean, quiet, and has stunning views. We watched whales from the deck, ate pawpaw fresh from the trees. Our hosts (Simon and Ura) picked us up from the airport and saw us off at the end. Their hospitality during our stay was amazing. They remained in contact to make sure we were happy and assisted us with local recommendations and bookings as well. Absolutely recommend.

Our two-week stay at Are Kapakapa was absolutely incredible. This family-run gem offers a unique blend of comfort, hospitality, and natural beauty that truly makes it stand out. From the moment we arrived, Vaa and Joliene, the wonderful hosts who manage the property, welcomed us with such warmth and genuine care that we instantly felt at home. Their attention to detail and commitment to ensuring our stay was perfect made the experience unforgettable. The property itself is a slice of paradise. Surrounded by lush coconut trees, the entire house exudes a peaceful charm. One of the highlights of our stay was the close proximity to the beach—just a short walk away. It’s hands down one of the best beaches we’ve ever visited, with pristine sands and crystal-clear waters that made every moment there magical. The house is fantastic—spacious, immaculately clean, and well-equipped to provide a cozy and comfortable experience. The cool sea breeze and the thoughtful layout of the house ensured we were always comfortable. It’s clear that Vaa and Joliene have put great effort into making Are Kapakapa a home away from home for their guests. Another highlight of our stay was exploring the fruit trees around the property. The coconuts were a delightful treat, perfect for a refreshing snack after spending time at the beach. Every aspect of Are Kapakapa reflects the love and effort that Vaa and Joliene pour into their hospitality. We had 4 great nights at ABA! Ned and Greta are the loveliest, caring hosts we met on our whole trip so far (and we are „on the road“ for more than 6 months now)! Ned picked us up from the airport and gave us an introduction to Aitutaki and where to find what in the neighborhood. That helped us a lot to get in touch with the locals. The accommodation is very clean and the kitchen is spacious and sufficiently equipped. Our room wasn‘t huge, but absolutely sufficient, since there is a big veranda and a hallway with sofas to hang out. It’s easy to meet other travellers since it is quite busy (if you are looking for a lonesome retreat that’s probably not the place 😉). There was complimentary drinking water, which is a great plus! There where also fresh fruits every day during our stay. WIFI works great. Highly recommended and an awesome price for value! Greta, Ned and their family are best! Lots of love, Sarah and Lukas

    Great location and value for money.

    Great location and value for money. Clean and comfortable with excellent wifi connection. Niki organised our scooter rentals with no issues and readily available to answer any questions we may have and offer options for activities in Aitutaki. Our transfers to and from the Airport was done by Jeremiah who was friendl, very helpful and informative. A great place for family wanting budget accommodation in a convenient location.

    The exceptional welcome was honestly the best travel experience I’ve ever had - you are looked after here more than in a 5 star hotel! From a complementary airport pickup with complementary breakfast, coffee, fruit, bikes etc etc these guys deserve the biggest tip - they work so hard to ensure their guests are happy , it’s really special. I will be forever grateful at the welcome we received

    We had a great time at Sunny Beach Lodge when we stayed there for 1 week in October. Centrally located on the island, close to Amuri town. Supermarket and drinking water station are across the road. Niki is a fantastic host, doing his best to give his guests a wonderful stay. Sunny Beach Lodge felt like a warm community, we had so many lovely neighbours! Again, meitaki mata Niki!

    The location, The staff the owner Niki I thought he went above and beyond and was very accommodating I moved from another Hotel and he drove me to pick up my luggage. On checkout day, My flight wasn’t till the evening yet he gave me another room to hang out, take a shower until my flight in the early evening, which he drove me to the airport. Perfect for a kite border.

    Great hotel, great location, great staff and a highly recommended restaurant - price/value is fair (you see often locals coming). Also breakfast is from our point of view sufficient and we didn´t really miss anything. The hotel is very well taken care of where you will find everything in good order. Just go and enjoy :-)
