Wildhaus, by its location and views, is quaint, clean and stunning. Lots of hiking can be done straight from the hotel, or you can take the ski / hiking lifts up to higher ground and do mountain top excursions, with breathtaking views of the mountains. Definitely worth a visit of you are looking for peace, hiking and beauty. There are various hotels in the area, Hotel Sonne has a magnificent menu of Swiss specialties and very acceptable pricing. Exceptional food, clean and cosy rooms, great ambient atmosphere as there are so many little nice details here ant there but check in and check out was unpleasant. Lady at the reception desk was making faces and made an impression she’s disturbed and annoyed instead of making us feel welcome. Very friendly. M'y limited german meant i couldnt have a discussion but all the staff were patient and understanding. The food and breakfast was good and plentiful. There is parking that is free. The hotel itself though is a bit outdated. Excellent breakfast. If you require a wheelchair-accessible room, make sure you request one because the hotel only has 4 available. It was one of the best stays, given that after nice hike you could enter the wellness area and enjoy the evening there. You can arrive by public transport with the hotel located directly opposite the bus stop which is also good for taking you to the ski slopes. I actually enjoyed the 1km walk to the ski station.
