A very well organised hotel, extremely friendly and helpful staff, high level of cleanliness, very comfortable room and bed, everything in the hotel decoration and ambiance was quite warm and very well designed/authentic, very tasty food and versatile menu, very good service, great location. The room had a lovely view of lake Brienz and had all we needed. It was roomy, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom and shower spacious. Staff were very friendly and the service excellent. They even accommodated our request to leave our suitcases with them for a few hours after check out so we could finish our sightseeing without taking them on the train with us. Great place to stay!

    It's a perfect small village to escape from busy life and be close to nature. There is small supermarket in the village where you can buy most things you need during your stay. There is also an open air museum which is worth a visit showing different aspects of life in different regions of Switzerland.

    I love this area and go often there.

    I love this area and go often there. For the lake, for the views up in the mountains, and for the many activities one can find to do on the lake and in the mountains. There's a wide variety of possible walks for all levels with very different type of sceneries and many creative ideas of activities for kids such as the "kugelweg", "Ballenberg", the dwarfs houses walk... I mostly like the Brienz-Meringen still very authentic side. I do not like Interlaken. From Brienz, it is very easy to travel around by car or public transports.
