A lovely small community on the lake. A pretty place to stop for a picnic and a walk along the bay. You can spot giant blue herons and bald eagles and enjoy the beautiful views - especially at sunset from the dock at the community centre.

The area is beautiful and has plenty to offer in summer and in winter when there is snow and/or the lake is frozen over for fishing. For times of year in between, things like the Cabot Trail and various communities like Sydney and Baddeck are driveable.
Whycocomagh is very small and so food options nearby are very limited and hours are more restrictiven. Charlene's is great food but closes at 6pm (or 7pm on some nights) and so you need to plan accordingly. Farmer's Daughter and Timmies are options for coffee and breakfast/lunch.

Great village, Keltic Quay is in the middle - walking distance to Co-op, Farmer's Daughter, pharmacy, Charlene's restaurant, etc. Access to The Great Trail for walking or ATV/UTV/Side-by-side adventures. TNT Outdoor Adventures have a tour starting on The Great Trail, can leave directly from Keltic Quay.

It was clean and the view is spectacular!
It was clean and the view is spectacular! I like that it was close to shops. I especially liked Farmers Daughter which has baked goods and gift shop combined.
I would definitely return as they accept pets, just bring your own blanket to cover up the furniture if your pet likes to snuggle up to you.

The resort was absolutely beautiful.the lake was beautiful but full of jellyfish and a mud bottom so no swimming anywhere within 20min
We were told this location would be excellent for trip to louisbourg but it was 1 1/2 he drive.far too long with 4 kids
It needs a pool and then it would be perfect for families

Nothing as the hotel never gave us our key after confirmed reservation. They left our keys in the hotel office and not in the drop box as promised, as we arranged in advance. We didn't have a place to stay. Do not book with them if you are planning to do late check in. Booking.com was also not helpful. I confronted the hptel office next morning and they had no explanation.

Beautiful setting right on the lakefront, with a balcony that is perfect for coffee, wine, or daydreaming. Central location to explore both Cape Breton coasts on consecutive day trips.
Great host who provided a drip coffee maker which we prefer over K-cups. Made our mornings brighter.

We stayed in the full family room (sleeps 6). Beds are comfortable; there is a full kitchen with all appliances, utensils and dishs/pans. The manager is very friendly. Two large ceiling fans, as well as an air conditioner. Hotel is pet friendly.

The room was recently updated and very clean. Beds were as comfy as any in a luxury hotel chain. Loved that there was a fridge, coffee maker, microwave and a toaster. The view from the top of the hill was stunning.

Friendly. The room smelled clean as soon as you opened the door. Pool. A great little gem in Cape Breton! Don’t let the exterior dissuade for this lovely cash saver!
