Lovely place for a stay. I spent just one night but was perfect. The room was cozy and the mattress really comfortable, on the firm side (just what I needed). Shared bathrooms are absolutely clean. There is a community kitchen which I did not use but great to know I could have. Check-in was super easy and independent which I appreciated because I arrived very late at night.

The elegant design, coupled with the cozy fireplace, created a delightful ambiance that made us feel like we were indulging in a five-star retreat. The large balcony provided a picturesque view of the tranquil river, making it a perfect spot to enjoy our morning coffee or unwind in the evenings. the bed was really comfortable; the bathroom was recent and comfy as well. the staff was so polite, smiling, and friendly/helpful from start to finish. my stay was an absolute success!

The beds were very comfortable. Pillows were clean ( very important to me!). Room was clean & well appointed. It was nice & quiet.

We had an excellent stay at the Velvet Fern. The home was beautiful and fully stocked. Our baby was comfortable and we were in a great location to explore Courtenay. I'd highly recommend it to anyone hoping to visit.

Excellent value for money. We found a fully equipped kitchen, living room, dining area and upstairs an enormous bedroom with a wonderfully comfortable bed. Immaculately clean.The bathroom is downstairs, so not for those with mobility issues but for us, this was a wonderful find. Highly recommend.
