Such a great place to visit. It’s grown significantly over the last 20 years. Lots of new places to dine and visit. The mini golf was great. Such a nice golf course!
The parks are beautiful and the town is easy to get around in. So great it’s not far to Canmore.

We enjoyed staying west of Calgary as preparation for a launch into the Banff area followed by Revelstoke and Whistler. Cochrane is a short drive from Calgary airport yet a giant headstart for the next day's travel. This B&B was a much better contributor to our trip than a generic hotel stay in Calgary.

I payed for a king standard room 200 cad. And got stuck two floors down next to the mechanical room in a tiny room with a small double bed that must have doubled as a staff accomadation unit based on the make shift kitchen.. The breakfast was muffins and bagels toast heavy carbs only protien was boiled eggs. This was a rip off.

We took in two meals while in Cochrane on the weekend of Nov 25, at Sakura Sushi and Grill and at the Texas Gate - both were wonderful. Cochrane has a young-family active vibe and we were lucky to be there for the annual Cochrane Light Up, where the streets downtown were filled with music and lights, carolers and celebration to kick off the Christmas season. It was a blast!

The town seems like a nice place to live, we liked the historic town and the saloon. There is a good ice cream parlour but it always has a queue, but worth the wait. Lots of restaurants and close enough to other attractions

Cochrane is friendly and has everything you need.
Cochrane is friendly and has everything you need. It is a short ride to Canmore which is also a very beautiful bit expensive experience.
The one negative was our car rental “Routes Car Rental” I found and reserved it online under Calgary airport car rentals. I received no follow up reservation number. That should have raised an alert after all they had cashed my visa payment. When we arrived at the airport we went to the area with all the auto booths. They had no booth i only found a phone number and address via the Internet. They were a bus ride away!!! They had i record of my order. I had to spell my name, Smith, five times. They had a substitute car which fine and brand new. But it was was A horrible way to start a vacation.

This little suite is adorable and very comfortable and clean. Elena, the host, is friendly and warm. We booked in Cochrane rather than Calgary to attend a weekend workshop in Springbank, and the drive was short and scenic. We opted out of breakfast at the suite, but there was a lovely bowl of fresh fruit waiting for us, along with tea and coffee, a nice French Press, and a microwave and apartment sized fridge. A nice touch in the bathroom was the host-family's homemade soaps.

The hotel was a fun experience for a night, but I wouldn't recommend staying longer. We enjoyed the bar where the staff were very friendly and the food was good.
The place definitely has history and Western charm, but I was hoping for more.

We booked the 2 bedroom hotel room. The room was clean and there were three beds in the room which was plenty of space for our family of four. The kitchenette had all the basic utensils for a light meal..
