I grew up in Cobourg and loved it.

I grew up in Cobourg and loved it. Left to join the Army in 1978 and finally made it back to stroll down King Street and walk the beach again. Fabulous what the Marina has done for the place. It is still the great place I remember. M

I liked that there are a lot of restaurants and patios and a lot of clothing shops and decor shops .I ate at The El ,The Buttermilk Cafe and Cucina Urbana .if you just want something light or for later you can grab a sandwich to go at the Millstone Bread Bakery right near the hotel .I also found a local historic Pub Kelly's Lite a block from the hotel .They have bands and singers on Friday and Saturday nights .They also serve breakfast and lunch .I visited Victoria Hall They have a small Art Gallery there .There are nice clothing stores ,decor stores and my favorite were the many Chrystal and Tarot shops .Cobourg was a friendly place to visit as a solo person .Easy to get around .It is walkable to everything .

Lots of excellent restaurants and cafes.

Lots of excellent restaurants and cafes. Historic quaint downtown contains plenty of Canadian art and craft as well as fine clothing and shoe shopping. For thrift shoppers, there are some excellent choices all on one street up from Main Street (KING). The waterfront and marina are accessible and close to the downtown. A beautiful concert venue brings theatre and music to town and local pubs feature local music.

King Street was packed with local independent shops and restaurants and cafés. This really made Cobourg an enjoyable place to visit, spend time in and stay. The lakeshore area is beautiful, even in the winter, and most of the streets in this area are quiet enough to enjoy walking around without noise from traffic.

Cobourg is a beautiful cozy classic Ontario lakeside village. Friendly people who stop to talk and are extremely proud of their community. Welcoming pubs! We were there in in November so can't comment on the beaches and recreation, but we returned to stay a second night on our way back from a short trip to Toronto - a compliment to the warm village atmosphere.

Cobourg is a lovely town on Lake Ontario with a wide sandy beach and a marina for boats and yachts. There are children's activities on the beach including a splash park and swings. Victoria Park provides green space with plenty of beautiful trees for shade. Downtown King street just north of the lake has cute shops and several coffee shops and restaurants. The Buttermilk Cafe is great for breakfast. Getting around is easy on foot. We did not need to rent a car. Travel by Via rail train from Toronto, Montreal or Ottawa to Cobourg.

Jane was a caring and thoughtful hostess. Her accomodation is a special gem, especially if you want to relax a little. The highlight of the accommodation is definitely the cozy place on the waterfront with a private beach. In town, I was able to get to everything important without a car and found some good cafés/shops/restaurants to eat or take away food.

Both dinner and breakfast menus were varied and options selected were delicious. Very secluded location with lovely setting and nice amenities. Our overnight stay was quiet and restful.
