I recently stayed at Novotel Curitiba Batel and had an exceptionally comfortable and convenient experience. The hotel was great and very comfortable, offering all the amenities I needed for a pleasant stay. The service and staff were excellent, always courteous and ready to assist with any requests. I would especially like to thank Jose for his exceptional help in carrying my luggage during check-out, making my departure smooth and stress-free. Additionally, there was no language barrier as the front desk staff spoke English fluently, which made communication effortless and enhanced my overall experience. I would also like to express my gratitude to the staff who assisted me during the check-in and check-out process, as well as during my stay, including helping me choose transportation. Despite language difficulties with locals, utilizing ChatGPT and Google Translate proved incredibly helpful for communication. I recommend other travelers download the 99 app for transportation in Curitiba, as it's convenient and easy to use. Additionally, consider using the Airalo app and purchasing a global e-SIM for seamless connectivity during travels. Overall, my stay was wonderful, and I highly recommend this hotel to others.

My First Time meet Curitiba City

My First Time meet Curitiba City When I found out that two of my favorite American punk rock/HC bands, Circle Jerkys and Descendents, were going to tour Brazil, but they wouldn't be playing shows in my city, I knew I had to travel to see them. There was a date scheduled for São Paulo and another for Curitiba, but due to the situation at the airports due to the flooding that year, I decided to buy a ticket for Curitiba because of the price less, proximity and lower demand. In October, when Salgado Filho Airport reopened, I didn't waste any time and bought a ticket, then booked a hotel. I've always been curious about the city of Curitiba, because it seemed like a cool, cultural and organized city, in addition to having a strong skateboarding and underground culture. The day before the show, I traveled and when I arrived I met a friend who had come by bus. After checking into the hotel, we decided to walk to a famous local skate park, so that we could get to know the city better. Curitiba is similar to Porto Alegre in some ways, it's a big city but with the structure of a small town, the places are relatively close together and it has lots of trees, but it's more organized, clean and apparently safer. The people are very friendly and the local food is delicious. One day I went to the municipal market and ate "carne de onça", a typical dish made with seasoned raw meat, and I liked it "lol". There are also many influences from Arab and Oriental cuisine, and there are several restaurants that specialize in it. The night of the show was incredible, the place was as big as a shopping mall, with food trucks, shops and a tattoo studio (I even got one "lol") and watching these two embryonic bands of my lifestyle was amazing. I came back fulfilled, with the certainty that I will return another time.

    Give the place a miss.

Give the place a miss. Some interesting architecture but it’s fairly grim, run down, derelict in lots of areas and clearly needs massive investment especially to help the homeless there. On a Sunday the city is closed.

Very European vibe this city has , I can only speak for the areas where I was located , but the central area has a very European feel to it, reminded me in many ways of Prague , or Bucharest and Budapest.I plan to return for a longer stay.

First time in Brazil, and coming from Europe i had to repeat to myself regularly that I was in South America. The place looks more like any city in Europe and this challenged my pre-conceived idea of what I thought Brasil was alike. To keep it simple, i did not see the diversity I was expecting. Nice and very clean city. People seems not be very friendly and welcoming when you don't look like them. I felt it strongly.

    An absolutely amazing, beautiful city.

An absolutely amazing, beautiful city. Curitiba has its own unique style and charm. The museums and parks are everything as advertised. My favorite places were Opera de Arame (an opera house), and Parque Barigui (the park with the Capybaras). Not far from Parque Barigui is an automobile museum that I enjoyed. Tanguá Park has an amazing waterfall. There is a great diversity of restaurants in the city. My favorite restaurant was Terrazza 40. It has a panoramic view of the entire city. Check out Mercado Mnicipal, a large central market, and of course the Botanical Gardens. Also, not far from the airport, there are a number of vineyards if you like wine tasting. If you are staying for a few days, try to visit Lapa, Witmarsum, or Matinhos. If possible, take a 2-3 day take a trip to Balneário Camboriú. Also, the train ride with Serra Verde Express to Morretes was an absolute treasure. (Note: take the luxury car). The people are very accommodating to foreigners. No matter where I went, whether it was restaurants, malls, book stores, or shopping centers, I never felt unwelcomed. Everyone I encountered was friendly, polite, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible. Learn some basic Portuguese before arriving as it will make your stay more fun. Overall, the city is safe, clean, modern, and has plenty to do. I wished I stayed longer. Finally, check out the Capybaras.
