The shower block was great - hot water and comfort!! Cool little cabin - was such a cool experience for my 3 year old. Great scenery - the drive up at night was amazing with the silhouette of the gum trees and mountains. Blessed to have found it!

Wilmington is an old and small country town.

Wilmington is an old and small country town. This hotel was the only accom option. You should stay in such a place knowing this. The building is old, the facilities are old, but instead of comparing it to some modern 5star thing in a metropolis, take it for what it is - a chance to go back in time a bit, chill out, and relax. The town has very few "shops". There is a cafe that does really good pasties. (Pasties, not "pastries"). Had a piping hot one of those at 9am when they opened :) A service station that is also the local "supermarket". And an op shop (thrift shop), that painfully only opened at 10am, just after I had to leave. Looking through the window it seemed very fun :) Some great heritage small buildings - the old police station looks magnificent, in its modest way.
