It had everything we needed. Very helpful staff, went over and above what they needed to.Fresh bleeding, very nicely laundered. Great for children, everything they need, but most of all the gift of seeing so many native animals right on the doorstep.

Loved the log fire. Totally didn’t see it on the booking. It was so nice when some wintery weather came through. They also turned on the heater for our arrival which was lovely. Having breakfast with a view of the forest, birds and kangaroos was lovely. Was lucky enough to see a young one that had the case of the zoomies. Super easy key collection. No needing to go to an office. Got a text about the key and the code. Was super helpful. The location is awesome.

We enjoy our 2 night stays at this place! It was clean, spacious and comfortable. Kitchen has everything, several different size of cooking pot or frying pan to use. Owner provides Alexa speaker in the kitchen, we used it to play Christmas music while preparing our good hot meal. We love the high ceilings with glass window overlooking the mountain during breakfast in the morning. This place is surrounded with wildlife like kangaroo and cockatoo. We even saw deer in the bushes near to our kitchen roaming free in the wee hour, we are staying at the end lot. One of the bedroom does not have air-conditioner. However, the owner provide electric heating blanket so there is no problem to sleep when the weather become cold at night. The bathroom has spotlight warmer installed at the ceiling, we appreciate It as it warm up the bathroom when we take shower at night.

We had dinner at the Halls Gap Hotel Restaurant just on the out skirts of town which was good. Breakfast we had at the Grampians Restaurant Cafe Bar. The breakfast was amazing and the chef/owner was really nice to talk too and made us feel very welcome. The shops are doing it tough so it was good to show support and visit the shops. Got quite a few bargins.

The Zoo and McKenzie Falls were highlights for us. Both are definitely worth doing. There are also several very good restaurants and a nice brewery pub. We only were there for an overnight stay, but could have stayed longer.

Halls Gap is a small town abutting the beautiful Grampians National Park. Halls Gap town has many facilities for a short stay. The main attraction of the town is its direct access to walking trails. There is a range of trails, and they cater to many fitness levels. Much has been done to improve accessibility and safety in the National Park in recent years. The unique rock formations that can be seen from the town and the myriad wildlife all around are a real drawcard. Having a car allows you to see more of the park, and I'd say, is a must. It's a place I have visited more than 10 times, and I'll keep coming back.

Lovely place for rest and relaxation or adventurous...

Lovely place for rest and relaxation or adventurous activities like hiking or bush walks. Plenty of accommodation types available - although I would avoid the Kookaburra Motel and Pinnacle Holiday Lodge as they were extremely negative experiences for us - and there is also lots of places / space for caravans and camping. Stores are quite tourist oriented so if you need a “regular” shop, Stawell is a 25 minutes drive away as the supermarket in Halls Gap has limited choice and stock and is very expensive. A range of eateries is available; our favourites are The Kookaburra Hotel for dine-in where the staff are ALWAYS very friendly, helpful and efficient and The Town FryerFish & Chip and Pizza for take-away because the food is always fresh and delicious with great meal deals for families (avoid Halls Gap Tavern where staff are rude, extremely unfriendly and not at all service orientated!) There is a wonderful playground to keep children active and entertained, the Halls Gap Zoo can fill in a day … although it is the main attraction for us so we ended up buying a membership as it worked out cheaper … MacKenzie Falls is beautiful and a relatively short drive away but beware the resident emu who loves to snatch food from you! All in all, a wonderful place to visit.

Me and my family went to the Halls Gap Zoo which was worth the cost of the tickets. It was cheaper to buy a Family Ticket than to buy individual tickets for each person which was good. The township of Halls Gap is very small & has a cozy feel to it. We had dinner at the Halls Gap Hotel & the meals were fantastic & very well priced. Definitely worth visiting the hotel for any occasion. We had breakfast at Livefast Cafe and although it took them a long time to bring out everything it was well worth the wait as the food was excellent. Halls Gap has everything that you need and a few niche shops to make the town unique.

Decore was fresh, clean and modern. The space in the room was perfect, not cramped like some places we have stayed at. The bed was firm and comfortable with an electric blanket for cold nights! Close to everything and the hotel manager was incredibly helpful providing maps and knowledge of where to go and things to do in the area. Loved coming back after dinner to a big open fire outside where we sat around and chatted with other people staying at the hotel.

Beautiful isolated spot, lots of wildlife. Close enough to Halls Gap to get a morning coffee.. Being able to lie in bed and look at the stars was the highlight and we were so lucky with clear skies. Beautifully appointed, off grid luxury. All instructions were precise and accurate.
