    Fabulous historic town - lots to do - we did the Escape Room...

    Fabulous historic town - lots to do - we did the Escape Room which was great fun. The rail trails were great for cycling and we did a wine tasting at Indigo Winery and enjoyed a platter there afterwards in the garden. Worth making the trip to Stanley in the evening as the pub there is fantastic - great food and ambiance. The Beechworth honey shop was great too - the honeycomb is a must. We will be back.

    Friendly town. Enjoyed dinner at local pub. Short drive to Yackandandah and Myrtleford towns. A pretty scenic area. Good drive from Sydney as a stop / stay then a shorter drive 4 hours or so to Melbourne the next day.

    Beechworth is a beautiful historically significant country...

    Beechworth is a beautiful historically significant country town, either as a holiday destination or a base for exploring the whole region. Whether it is walking, shopping, eating, sightseeing, there is something for everyone. It is an easy town to walk around. Visitor Information in the old Shire building were very helpful for tour info, miners right and gold panning maps, etc. The gold tour opposite was very informative and interesting. The Burke Museum had fascinating displays including a Thylacine and other taxidermy birds and animals you might never see in the wild. As well as historical artefacts relating to Burke. Queen Victoria Park has some spectacular trees planted in the early days of the town. One of my favourite towns in Victoria, never get tired of visiting.

    Great little spot for a long weekend. Super friendly town, good old fashioned pubs abs service. Wonderful little shops to poke around in. Wonderful bush walking and excellent bike trails. The best ham and cheese tostie you will ever have at 'Tiny' Cafe in Main Street.

    Relaxed town with plenty to offer the slow-paced retiree. There's a good walking trek just next to the town. A few walking tours through the town that makes it interesting. The town suffered an internet outage during our visit which left us in a dilemma as everything was Cash Only and we had little. Fortunately IGA was the only store that had satellite and it allowed us to access cash and allowed us to purchase food and drinks.

    With the autumnal leaves in glorious technicolor what is there not to love. In the short time I was there Beechworth appeared a well preserved and vibrant country town. I will be back to explore the area more fully. Dinner at The Nicholas was an unexpected pleasure. Just unfortunate that a large very noisy party turned up just after I had ordered. A great town to just wander around and view the sites.

    The place is in a great location, right in the heart of Beechworth but set back from the road so it is quiet. The setting in the back garden area is very romantic especially with the lights twinkling in the trees. Lovely spot to spend a few days. The room was massive as well, lovely two headed shower, everything you needed but with a touch of extravagance. Recommended for folks to stay. The restaurant was not open when we were there so were unable to partake of what looked like a special dinner. Next time.

    Gorgeous historical building, furnished in keeping with the era plus beautifully maintained outside areas. Loved the linen and comfy beds. It is conveniently located in the CBD of Beechworth. Owners Heidi and Jim were very welcoming and provide the highest level of service. They gave us excellent information about the region and places to visit. Breakfast was is so delicious and generous.

    We like the location and features of the hotel and prefer to stay in the upper floor rooms. On-site parking is also convenient and it is feasible to walk into town for meals. We often stay there in order to break up the trip from Canberra to Melbourne and vice versa. The check in is simple and convenient.

    The location is really terrific. It's close to hotels, restaurants and shopping. You can easily walk to tea Rooms, Pie Shops and tourist attractions like the Beechworth Jail. The trees and street scape surrounding the motel are gorgeous. We visited in the summer, but the autumn would be splendid.
