We knew the property was fairly remote - towards the end of a beautiful valley. But we hadn't anticipated just how much its location would be such a powerful positive. Beauty amidst stillness. The facilities, kitchen, etc, exceeded our expectations given the price-point. And a balcony, too, to sit, read, and look at the scenery. Although remote, Virgen itself - with free parking - was a quick drive away - cafes, great coffee shop/bakery and a well-stocked supermarket, and there were some great walks from the doorway, plus some amazing ones twenty minutes away in the car. The waterfalls beyond Hochbichl left us breathless in awe. Irene was a great host, welcoming us warmly and coming back almost immediately with any queries we had.

The place is very beautiful and deserves to stay for more than 3 days. The workers deserve all respect. There was an error in the reservation. I made a reservation by mistake on the wrong date. After I contacted them, the reservation was changed and the date was modified. Note that the reservation is non-refundable. I hope to come back and stay in the place. It is worth all the money that was paid for it.

    It is a small village with more or less any shops you need.

    It is a small village with more or less any shops you need. There are many hiking paths to enjoy and because it is early in the season there are no crowds and bikes around. You have to check the little paths because sometimes the owner of the land just closes the path and you have to make a bigger round. There are castle ruins to be visited, huts and beautiful forest paths with stunning views.

    The town itself is tiny and there is nothing to do (although there is a supermarket, gas station and bakery). But the hiking possibilities are limitless, as are the excursions you can make in the Hohe Tauern area. We also found some nice restaurants in the area.

    We were lucky to have a rest in this house for the second time! Perfectly clean, quiet, cozy! We were in 2022 and all the time remembered this house, the hostess Natasha and her wonderful breakfasts! And by chance, when we came to Austria in the summer in 2024, we saw that there was a free room for two days. It is such a joy to return to where you were so happy.     Very nice apartment. Clean and cozy. The view from the apartment was mesmerizing. The kitchen was equipped with everything you need. The only thing that the communication with the hosts was really poor. I didn't get the response via WhatsApp and via Booking it also was slow. Probably because I wasn't writing in German.

    We enjoyed our stay in Virgen very much. The road leading up to house is a bit narrow and steep, which could be a problem in snowy conditions. The owners are very nice and friendly.
