A very old historic building of the 14thC. Neat and spacious common areas, good sized bedrooms; down feather amenities; logo slippers, gowns, and ten out of ten heating; very clean spa. Linen change as you wished and towels daily. Breakfast: it was above and beyond with fresh produce and a full basket of local dishes, Austrian hams and cheeses, scrambled eggs, fluffy viennese croissants, vegan & vegetarian diets, breads, desserts etc and a large assortment of juices, teas & coffees. Lunch and dinner: it was a pleasant experience too. The service of the staff: was excellent with very polite staff available to assist you in any in-house enquiries to suggestions for outdoor experiences. Location: location was value for money! Hotel in a small village, next to a large market center, a 14min drive to Salzburg Old Town and a 45min drive to the closest ski resort. We would definitely return to this gasthouse.

Personable and friendly staff who were always helpful. Quiet location (in a village) and only 15 minutes on the bus to Salzburg centre. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Lovely breakfast, super comfortable bed, spacious spa area with 4 different spa types and areas to relax. Absolutely spotlessly clean, the owners (family owned) obviously take a great deal of pride in making sure everything is perfect for their guests. Great place to stay, would highly recommend.

Highly recommend! Top service, amenities, well thought design interior! A feeling of house/villa but with everything that you need and in top quality! Super clean everywhere!     A beautiful, rural area ten minutes by car from Old Town Salzburg. The 180 degree view from the Gasthof Maria Plain hotel terrace, and from the balcony of room #20 which we had, captures sweeping pastoral greenery in the foreground, behind which is the city of Salzburg with the iconic fortress on the berg, back-dropped by the soaring Austrian Alps. And the sky at night is spectacular! Want an authentic taste of Austrian Gemütlichkeit? This is your place!

    We were simply captivated by the wonderful atmosphere of the several-hundred-year-old building. Great interior, carefully assembled old restored furniture. Just a walk around the territory of the monastery takes you back several centuries. The restaurant terrace offers a great view of Salzburg, while goats graze in the meadow below. It leaves a big impression. It is true that the hotel with the church nearby is clearly visible from Salzburg Castle. We also really liked the rich and tasty breakfast.

    Great room! A bit dated, but that's the charm of this location. Staff is friendly, room was clean and breakfast buffet was good. Bed was amazing. Parking is free. Bus stop is a 15 minute walk. Taxi's to the city center are approx. 20 euros. For the return to the hotel, would recommend a taxi unless you like the hike up.

    The location is not too far outside Salzburg but away from the busyness, parking for our motorcycles was easy and next to the hotel for free, though on the open street. There is a Chinese restaurant around the corner for an evening meal. The breakfast was good and overall it was OK for a 1 night stop over.

    Very nice hotel, lovely location close to Salzburg. 15 min drive by 1 bus. Lovely size of the room and the bathroom. Traditional and lovely family establishment. Enjoyed the back garden especially in the hot weather. Great choice for breakfast, could not fault it.
