Overall, it was an amazing experience from the beginning until the end. Helpful and friendly staff, knowledgeable about the history of Peru. Great food, magnificent views. Getting to the capsule is an experience of its own. And the capsule itself - I wouldn't believe you could fit so many things there before I saw it myself. 10/10

With mountain views, Llactapata Lodge overlooking Machu Picchu - camping - restaurant is situated in Salcantay and has a restaurant, room service, bar, garden and terrace.

A balcony with garden views is offered in every unit. We booked Llactapata Lodge for the last night of the Salkantay trek. Heaved ourself up the mountain and arrived to surely one of the most stunning panaramas in the world: a beautiful display of sun and rainbows framing Machu Picchu in the distance. Same view from the bed and in the (hot and good!) shower of the cute little hut perched on the ridge. Food was good and copious! It's not a 'luxury' hotel but it was luxury for us after the trail. We arrived a bit earlier than the staff expected us (1.30ish) and they don't really provide lunch but they gave us mountains of popcorn! There are worse ways to spend the afternoon than with popcorn and beer watching epic skies over Machu Picchu. Really magical place.

It was a once in a lifetime experience and the guides were absolutely incredible! The pods and views were AMAZING!! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was second to none but what made our experience that much more incredible was the positive and supportive energy from our guides!!

A wonderful place to connect with nature and yourself.

The family running this place are really lovely and staying here was such a wonderful authentic experience. It is like staying in a modern Incan village rather than a touristy centre. Also easy to access Pisac ruins or get Collectivo to and from Pisac from this village.

Situated in Urubamba, 600 metres from Sir Torrechayoc Church, Kutimuy Lodge features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a bar. Each accommodation at the 4-star hotel has city views, and guests can enjoy access to a sauna and a hot tub. The accommodation offers room service and a 24-hour front desk for guests. Luis and his team made us feel totally at home. The location is; a hidden gem, close enough to walk into town, totally safe, peaceful, spacious inside and out - and the team went above and beyond for us. This included bringing in their chef especially for us, ordering us takeaways, helping us with our laundry, bringing us drinks etc etc. We checked out to go to Cusco - only to arrive at our accommodation and realise we'd made a big mistake. So, we called Luis and asked if he'd have us back. We turned back around and stayed at Kutimuy again for another 3 nights.

It’s hard to choose what I loved most about Spirit of the River Lodge, everything was truly wonderful. The location is magical and peaceful, with the sound of the river always in the background and barely any traffic passing by. We stayed twice, in two different rooms, and both were beautifully designed, cozy, and offered gorgeous views of the river. You can really feel how thoughtfully everything was created to respect and highlight the natural surroundings. The lodge has a sauna overlooking the river, direct access to the water, and a small yoga shala where I enjoyed my morning practice and reading. Claudia and Rudi were incredibly welcoming and hospitable. They made us feel like family. We had dinner one night and breakfast each morning, and even as vegans, we felt so well cared for. The food was amazing. They also have lovely animals, a llama named Tupac and two sweet dogs, Max and Juanita, who added so much joy to our stay. The area is relaxing but also well located, with easy access to nearby towns and cities. We came back twice because we truly fell in love with the place. I can’t recommend it enough!

There is a beautiful river nearby and a great stroll through the jungle as well. There is lots of wildlife. We saw all sorts of mammals and birds. The cabins are beautifully made and the very comfortable and clean. The shower is exceptional. They even offer you gumboots which are great to get around in.
