Norem, Esteban and Valeria made us feel at home right away and went out of their way to accommodate us. Breakfast and dinner (with the hummingbirds around) were delicious, prepared to the point and with several dishes to choose from. The cabins are all new, very well designed and furnished, the bathroom with steady and immediate hot and cold water supply. A garden with a small trail are in the making and will make spending time in the crisp and clean mountain air even more worthwhile. We can highly recommend Curuba Lodge which became our favorite place in Costa Rica! Tip: Esteban can connect you with a few guides to see the rare and iconic Quetzal birds.

A short hike takes you to a tree with Resplendant Quetzals; we didn't even have to go to a park to see them. If you're a trout lover, you're in luck; there are gfresh trouts on the premises. One of us is vegan and the staff always found a way to cook him up something delicious, off menu.
