Beautifully designed and serene gem of a hotel with a quiet atmosphere and professional and helpful staff. The food at the lodge restaurant alone would be enough reason to come (back) here. We had some of the best roast chicken & curry here of our whole trip! The pool offers a nice escape from the heat. Overall a highly recommended stay!

This place was an absolute experience! The views were seriously breathtaking and most of all if you are looking to relax, connect with nature and have the best time disconnecting this is the ideal place. A tree house has wide open windows which can be kept wide open (mosquito nets over the beds, not many mosquitos though). During the day, it is possible to encounter birds or squirrels; at night, to see fireflies. So, the experience translates into living and sleeping in the canopy. The green forest-like scenery is the greatest but not the only value of the place. Other benefits of the place are: - the location is conveniently very close to the main attractions: Dambulla cave temple, Sigiriya, Minneriya National Park and Pidurangala Rock - the safari jeep hire (with the driver) to conveniently visit the Minneriya park Probably naturally to Sri Lankans, the hosts are very kind and caring and love good humour. I had a very good time staying at Machcha. Kamal is a great host. :) The bungalow has two rooms with terrace in a beautiful garden. You can hear and see the birds and lay down in a hammock under the trees. The owner makes breakfast with love (fresh fruits, tea, avocado with toast/Roti, smoothie, egg). The location is perfect for exploring Sigiriya Lion Rock or have a day trip to Polonnaruwa. The nature is very nice. ;) Your host can help you with information about tours and what to explore around. It's also easy to connect with other travellers in the hostels around. The rooms are big, clean and very nice. With a big bed and A/C.
