I would highly recommend to anyone driving from Marrakech to the desert, this is a great half way point. We had our own car and their parking is great. It is outside of the main town but this is to its benefit, the rooms and terrace have an amazing view over the river bed and the mountains. Also I would highly recommend dinner at the riad, the food is lovely. Breakfast was also really yummy - Berber options and European options including the most delicious home made yogurt. Thanks again Omar and team, we had a lovely stay.

We stayed here one night with 2 kids, but we could have stayed a week! The hosts were so welcoming and very friendly, always making sure we were comfortable and that we had everything we needed. Also, the food was delicious both at dinner as breakfast. Beds are comfortable with cosy blankets for the colder nights. We will come back!

Located high in the Atlas Mountains, Auberge Le Festival Todra Gorge is an eco-friendly hotel with a hot tub, children’s swimming pool and an organic garden. It was built with natural materials and is a 15-minute drive from Tinghir. One word: WAUW! Sooo unique (we slept in the cave room), such a joyfull staff with very great vibe in the evening thanks to the live music. The food was like a 5 star restaurant, from their own garden and so cheap compared to the quality and taste!

An exceptionally special stay in this historic village. 8 rooms, each unique, each with a view and/or a terrace. Staff very accommodating- it was a very cold spell and they made sure we had heat in our room. Each common room of the hotel was a masterpiece, the cave-like ‘family room’ to the dining area and terraces. Breakfast was also exceptional taste of the region and plentiful. Because it is a UNESCO site there is very limited power. Charging is done in a central area by reception. All lights are out at night to conserve. Knowing this ahead allows you to plan accordingly. Parking for 20 dirhams in someone’s gated yard worked well. Hotel has this dialed in and it’s a good way just be sure you are paying the property owner and not someone on the street acting like it’s theirs. Sunset from the top, sunrise from the eastern knob, or from the hotel terrace.
