I honestly believe he should publish his work – his shots are amazing. Dinner was delicious and beautifully prepared, and the whole team was so kind and thoughtful. They even waited for us until late, as my girlfriend wasn’t feeling well, just so we could still enjoy our meal when she felt better. That kind of care is rare to find. A magical place with beautiful people. We left with full hearts (and full bellies!). Highly, highly recommended.

The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, making you feel welcome from the very beginning. We received valuable tips and had the chance to exchange thoughts about the surroundings and Sri Lanka in general. One absolute highlight of our stay was the High Knuckles Trek: we hiked for 5–6 hours through the mountains, saw stunning waterfalls, and even spotted a rare Leaf-nosed Lizard – an endemic reptile with a leaf-shaped nose, perfectly camouflaged in the forest. Another fascinating part of the trek was the constantly changing weather: sometimes sunny and clear, then suddenly misty and humid, which gave the landscape an almost mystical atmosphere. Our guide always took great care of us, ensured our safety, and impressed us with his deep knowledge about the flora, fauna, and the region. We are absolutely thrilled with this accommodation and can only highly recommend it – for everyone who wants to experience nature, adventure, and true Sri Lankan hospitality!

We had really good meals there, which made our stay even better. The food was delicious and added to the enjoyment of our trip. It was great to have such tasty meals while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Overall, our stay was very pleasant because of the lovely weather, stunning views, and delicious food. We would love to visit again in the future.

There is a shared bathroom with shower in all units, along with free toiletries and slippers. We really enjoyed how we have been integrated, we felt just like another member of the family. We were looking for an authentic experience to spend aluth aruvudu (Buddhist new Year) and we could not have dreamed of something better than the few days we lived at the SNF. After 1month and a half we have never experienced this kind of welcome elsewhere. The whole family is very open minded, intelligent, sensitive, curious but what probably touched us the most is their willingness to share everything: Food (of course) but also what life learned them in general whether it is practical skills like cooking, cutting a coconut, observing nature or more "soft skills" like their view on life and their wisdom. We hope to come back as we know this was a unique and special experience.

We had the chance to try many new dishes and discover a wide range of Sri Lankan ingredients and flavors. The tea experience was very well done. We picked tea alongside the local tea ladies working on the property’s seven-acre plantation, and afterward, Dave walked us through the entire tea-making process—from plucking to producing both green and black tea. His passion for tea, and more broadly for his community and the work he's doing there, really shines through. The surrounding environment is magical. We went on a five-hour hike through the area—one of the best hikes we've ever done. The people in the nearby village of Gammaduwa were also incredibly welcoming, friendly, and kind. The staff were professional, warm, and well-prepared. Dave himself is a fantastic host. He even helped us arrange a driver at a fair price, which we greatly appreciated. The vision behind this guesthouse is truly inspiring—it reflects Dave’s deep care for the local community and his desire to make a meaningful impact. I really encourage anyone staying here to take a moment to learn more about it. It deserves recognition and appreciation.
