What can I say, during our 3 weeks in Tansania this must have been the best place we have stayed at! The owner Anna and Ibra took so much care of the details, just great. The whole complex was renewed last year, so the bungalows and the pool area are basically brand new and in very good shape. You have a breathtaking view on the ocean from anywhere (pool, hammocks etc.), a perfect spot to relax. During low tide it is possible to swim to a sand bank directly in front of the hotel which brings out the great colors of the ocean even more. Be aware though that it's not a good spot to swim due to many rocks in the water, but that is typical for the east coast of Zanzibar. Also Paje is too far to walk (about 1 hour one way) which we were aware of before booking, so that did not bother us. I also want to mention the incredibly nice staff! Very helpful, friendly and always with a smile on their faces, we felt like home from the first second! All in all a definitive recommendation, we will be back!

very good breakfast, several options for egg preparation to choose from. Very nice garden, frequently cared for, clean swimming pool, very comfortable swing (hanging) beds in the garden. Own restaurant and bar open for lunch or dinner any time during the day. very nice staff. possible to pay using card in the restaurant/bar (+3% surcharge)

We loved the property it was absolutely worth the price! The staff were amazing, especially the chef who kindly prepared a last-minute dinner for us. A big thank you to Alice, who gave us a warm welcome and shared helpful info about places to visit. The manager was also very friendly and made us feel right at home. I had the most incredible stay at this hidden gem in Zanzibar! This beautiful hacienda style hotel is truly enchanting, with charming design details that are rarely found nowadays. The service was impeccable, on par with the finest luxury resorts but with a personalized and discreet touch that only a family-sized business can offer. Real luxury to me. The staff’s constant smiles and joyful dances to enchanting songs made the atmosphere magical. All the amenities were perfect, making me feel completely at ease. The food was absolutely delicious, every meal a delight! Plus, it’s just a short trip to the iconic ‘The Rock’ restaurant which is a must-visit! Special thanks to Michael and Adolf for making my stay beyond perfect. A true slice of paradise!”

Exceptional place to stay. The facilities - swimming pool, bar and restaurant were all first class. Food was delicious. Best of all was the wonderful welcome and hospitality shown by the fantastic owners Petra and Thomas.     Afya is a paradise off the beaten track. The location is hidden away from the touristy areas, located on a quiet stretch of beach ideal for long walks and swimming. The bungalows are private and comfortable and run on solar power - a great example of sustainable tourism. The staff are super helpful and friendly - shout out to Ali, Timoth and Nadra for making our stay so wonderful! We ended up extending our stay as we loved it so much!

    Really amazing staff!! Especially Fatma, the receptionist, was very kind and knowledgeable about the area. The facilities were very clean and in a great location next to the Rock restaurant. Could easily go on excursions as the fisherman were hanging around the beach. Also Kae funk is a short drive away! Highly recommend

    This was our third time at Sagando, we absolutely love it. The staff are wonderful - very friendly, happy and helpful. Excellent location among the trees (we loved watching the bush baby!) and a very quick walk to a stunning beach. Room was very clean and food delicious! Great price. We were sad we had to leave a day early but we will be back!

    A beautiful location, right across from The Rock Restaurant and direct access to the beach, the room was well decorated and had everything that you could need. Very clean and comfortable and the staff were exceptional. Highly recommended.
