Very unique stay in the middle of the mountains. It was certainly a small hut, which made for a fun experience as a part of our travels. The toilet is outside, but it was very clean and modern so it was not an issue for us. Check in instructions were very clear. It was interesting to be able to use the record player and the wood stove. We were lucky to have a relatively clear night which allowed us to have a great view of the stars

My stay in the Moa cabin was outstanding—cozy, warm in winter, and inviting. Location wise, you can easily drive across all the hotspots along Arthur's Pass. The reception was welcoming, providing clear directions. Clean shared kitchen and bathrooms made for a pleasant experience. Highly recommend!

Although we did not need 4 bedrooms, as my husband snores, having the use of 2 bedrooms was fabulous for respite on our 3 week South Island trip. The many heaters meant we did not have to use the coal/ wood fire which we used with ease on the first night but I was concerned about creating particulate pollution so we resorted to the excellent oil column heaters which heated up the place well. It is quiet despite being near the railway tracks and the washing was useful for our post tramping laundry which was easily dried on the line so although there is no dryer, none was needed. I appreciated the excellent communication from the proprietors. Their clear instructions made the trip seamless and stressfree.
