Rivendell twisted tree What an incredibly beautiful place this is. When I arrived I could barely exit the taxi, as I was feeling incredibly sick. The chef supported me while I walked towards a chair. During our stay I needed to rest and stay in bed. Everyday the owner of the residence called to check up on me and offered me a dokter. It felt like he genuinely cared. So did the other staff members who were super attentive and made sure I didn’t lack anything. I can’t highlight it enough, the surroundings here are amazing. The perfect place to relax in the nature while being looked after by great staff.

Grand Colonial Viveka has the best view of Kurunegala lake and it's located closer to Kurunegala city centre. Hospitality is high end, food is delicious and staff is very friendly. I felt like home with these beautiful people around. Thank you Maureen (Manager) and Senerath (MD) for managing this beautiful place alive. I'll definitely comeback when I visit Srilanka next time. This fantastic hotel is set in the middle of nature. If you like seeing and hearing birds, then this place is great, with over 25 species in 1 night stay. The room was large, the linens were high quality, and it was all very clean. We had a kettle for making coffee, good AC, and fan. We had a room with a great view over the garden towards the lake. The owner, Chandana, was very friendly and spoke good English. The hotel is very well decorated and comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting to watch the wildlife at sunset on the bench provided. The garden is also a haven for wildlife and has a lot of interesting trees. He provided us with the best Sri Lankan breakfast we have had in a month. It was outstanding, with some of it made by his wife. Him and his staff member were very kind to help us change the wheel on our tuktuk, too. A wonderful place to stay. We stayed for a halfway point between Kandy and Negombo

The Hideaway is the perfect place to stay! The house and premises are beautiful, quiet and peaceful. We had our own TukTuk so it didn’t bother us that it’s a bit further out. Samantha, his wife and employees were super friendly and helpful. He showed us around his garden and explained all about the different plants, we ate fresh fruit straight from the tree and picked a watermelon and coconut to have for breakfast. Breakfast and dinner were freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. Before leaving, we were even allowed to plant a coconut tree. Playing badminton underneath palm trees was also a fantastic experience! Samantha also helped us plan a two day hiking tour for the next day which was a great and unexpected add-on to our trip! Communication was very easy, both via WhatsApp and in person.

Ruwanara Royal Majestry is by far the best hotel in the Kurunegela district and one of the best in Sri Lanka! It is a hidden gem and I cannot emphasis how much I enjoyed my stayed here !! To start off with the rooms are more specious than you can ever imagine, it is bigger than the photos ! The beds are extremely luxurious and big, the bathroom is so large and you have enough room to store all your toiletries. Next the room itself is equipped with a big wardrobe, iron and ironing boards, mini fridge and even a nice private study area for relaxation or business work. The staff, are the epitome of Sri Lankan hospitality! From the beginning we were made to feel very welcome into this property and with open arms they made our stay the best stay ever ! This is my home away from home and next time I am in Sri Lanka, I will stay here and will be recommending this hotel to all our family and friends as well! Special thanks to Kavindu, Amila, Anura, chef Priyantha for catering to our every need and making us feel like royalty with their treatment !! They were so kind and I will never forget their hospitality as this kind of quality and service is extremely rare to find ! The property itself is tucked away behind some beautiful paddy feels and our room overlooked the most amazing pool which is cleaned daily! The pool itself we have been in several times and it is clean and extremely refreshing on the warmer days. When we weren’t in the pool we were in the comfort of the AC’d hotel room, watching TV or sleeping on the comfy beds. A perfect holiday! Ruwanara is one of a kind and you won’t find a hotel like this anywhere in Sri Lanka or surrounding areas. We saw many magnificent weddings taking place and we learnt it caters up to 450 person weddings and can accomodate guests with rooms as well! I have recommended this hotel to all my family for any of their upcoming weddings as I think the service and location is just perfect !! I cannot wait to be back.
