We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Retro Guesthouse. The hospitality is outstanding and the staff are all very helpful and accommodating. The food is very good and great value. We enjoyed kayaking and it was so easy to hire a motorbike from the guesthouse and go exploring. Although the guesthouse is a few kms from Kampot it is a cheap tuk tuk ride or short ride on the motorbike to town and it is nice to return to the peace and quiet of Retro after adventures. There are also 2 resident cats which was nice! We look forward to coming back to Retro one day if we can.

We loved our stay at the Villa Romduol - this is an amazing place that offers an incredible value - it was the best place we stayed at during our travels in Cambodia (so far) yet the cheapest which is just crazy. It's so beautiful and relaxing - both our room and the common areas and outdoor garden are so beautiful and the villa staff / owners so incredibly nice, kind and generous. We spent most of our time just staying put and enjoying it all, as it was so beautiful and convenient with delicious meals served in the beautiful surroundings that we were not keen on going out at all - except for bike riding in the nearby countryside which was amazing and the free bikes provided by the Villa were excellent and perfect for the local roads (as these were quite rough and sandy in places...). We were sad to leave, as we had already booked to stay elsewhere in / near Kampot - the Villa Romduol and the owners' family will be fondly remembered :)

Very friendly and helpful hosts. We received a lot of helpful Information on nearby activities, useful apps and how to make the best of our travel. We rented a scooter directly at the door steps for three days. This independent roaming was so much fun, we decided to stay longer at the Mabuhay Guesthouse. Ecologically the separation of waste material needs positive mentioning and the refilling of water bottles.

From the moment we stepped into Cambodhi, we felt at peace. I still don’t know how to describe it properly—there was no bulb, and yet, it was one of the most powerful and unique lights I’ve ever seen. Are they living in the future? The rooftop terrace is another highlight. Open and spacious, it offers 360-degree views of Kampot, perfect for both sunrise and sunset, with the mountains on one side and the town on the other. Even if you’re out exploring during the day, make time to come up here—it’s worth it. We were lucky enough to meet Tola, one of the owners, in person, while Patrick was always just a message away on WhatsApp. Their hospitality was next-level—not just friendly, but genuinely invested in making sure we had the best experience in Kampot. Need a scooter? They’ll sort it. Have a question? They’ll answer before you’ve finished typing. It felt less like staying at a hotel and more like staying with friends who happen to be excellent hosts. A small but brilliant touch was the Welcome Book in our room. Now, I’m a logical guy—former project manager—so I really appreciated how well-thought-out and practical it was. It wasn’t just another generic guidebook; it told the story of the owners, explained how everything in the room worked, and laid out the best of Kampot in a way that made planning effortless. We stayed here 5 nights to recharge our batteries after 4 months of travelling and we couldn’t have chosen a better place. The room and bed were so comfortable, spacious and bright. The pool and roof terrace were great to cool off and everything is at your disposal - scooter rental, laundry, printing service and you can book tickets for your onwards journey. The staff is really friendly and the location is fine - yes, it’s not in the city centre, but it’s an easy enough walk or a cheap tuktuk ride. But the best thing about our stay was the food. We had delicious German breakfast every morning with homemade Leberwurst, and the dinners we had here were equally amazing. The owner makes the meals all himself and clearly knows what he’s doing. We really recommend this place highly, we loved every second of our stay here.

Good quiet location, tasty breakfast, very clean, they offer a cheap laundry service, and all the staff are so friendly and welcoming. It's a really great value guest house for how good the room sizes are and how lovely the service is. They also offer good value tuk tuk tours to places like La Plantation and Bokor Mountain which are well worth doing.

They are a couple of a French man with a. Cambodian woman with a lovely little boy..the atmosphere is very relaxing, the location is a big villa. The room is very clean and comfortable. Outside the room there is a big fridge with all sort of beverage and snacks..They offeralso a laundry service. My only regret I was not able to prove the Cambodia cuisine of the wife. They also rent me at very affordable price a scooter which I used to go around Kampot. I would definitely recommend Pit stop Villa for your stay in Kampot
