We loved this place so much! It‘s very close to paradise - starting from the lovely bungalows, the quiet surrounding, the beach. And most importantly: the people! Amadi (the cook) and the restaurant crew are the sweetest people I‘ve met in whole Kenia. We got fresh fish and octopus in the morning caught by local fishermen, and Amadi cooked delicious dinners for us. It was so special! We would definitely come back!

Staffs are very well trained and super friendly, and although it is an older property but well maintained. Clean the pool every morning, reasonably priced drinks and food are available. There are beach boys here too, but far fewer & nicer than in the other part of area. If you walk along the beach then go to the beach road within a 10~15 minute walk, you can find kinda mall (ATM, supermarket, various restaurants - Try The K Korean!, bars and souvenir shops). After sun goes down, instead of walking, take a tuk-tuk (KES100) to get back to the hotel. There are very few properties on Booking.com that have over 9-star rating with more than 1,000 reviews. If you go there you will know WHY! You'll probably need earplugs because of the monkeys..... LOL

Tombo House is a super lovely eco resort! Honestly, it is one of the best place have stayed so far. The atmosphere is totally relaxed. You are really detached from the outer world and can enjoy staying at the natural pool surrounded by palms and trees. The breakfast was amazing. They had fresh fruits, very good coffee, homemade bread and even soy milk. The apartment was super clean, spacious and had a very pleasant design.

Everything is great in this hotel. I really recommend it....Commfortable and silent place to stay, surrounded by greenery, right on the beach, nice pool. Professional and friendly staff, delicious breafast with huge choice and also local recipe as a special meal for us. The staff is very helpful. Snacks and drinks at the bar. For dinner you can go to several nearby restaurants. The meal is really delicious. Supermarket is 5 mins by walk. Great offer at a great price. Thank you very much Sylva, czech speaking manager, our holiday was incredible. :) ..................P.S. don't be afraid to ask for payment details, in Kenya there are different conditions, some requests seem like scams.

    The location suits a traveler who seeks experiences over ease of access. Had a pleasant couple of hours around the 'Africa Pool' with an acquaintance of the property caretaker who in fact was the best guide to the area. It is a peaceful place and has its own rustic allure. The caretaker did try accommodate my requests as much as he could.

    This resort is in an idyllic location away from it all. It needs a bit of attention here and there on the property but that work is being done. The “honeymoon” cottage we had was superb and we had the pool to ourselves. The food was good and the staff of which there are many were lovely. The two trips - the walk to the Africa Pool and to Starfish Island by boat were good. If you’re looking for a quite great place to stay - this is it.

    The beautiful scenery and location, stunning nature, the private beach, and the beautifully furnished honeymoon cottage were all very positive. Staff are friendly and polite. A great place if you are looking for peace and quiet, there are no shops in the vicinity.
