The staff was so incredibly kind and helpful and patient. I don't speak Japanese and they accommodated me with great English for explanations and conversations. They explained everything about the hotel and town in great detail, including the onsen and restaurants. They went out of their way to research specific public transport connections in this remote area for me, it was so kind. The room is well designed and was immaculate, it has a really cozy nook with a view of the river, very lovely. The shower room is tall! The town itself is so beautiful with the river and its red bridges that light up at night. The onsen which you get free entry to through the hotel had above average sulfuric water at 39°c. It takes effort to reach from the next Shinkansen station but I think it adds a lot of charme and makes it a hidden gem. Loved my stay and hope to return some time.

The house was very clean and quiet, and the family was very kind and helpful during our stay. They shoveled snow off the driveway and offered to turn the heater on for us before we arrived. It was comfortable and enjoyable.

The food was delicious, the accomodation bright and clean and beautiful. The host was cheerful and very easy to talk to and went above and beyond to make my stay amazing. She had some recommendations when I talked to her about my plans in the area which all turned out great when I tried them. Communication was pretty easy and uncomplicated. I would love to return and spend more time here if I have the chance.

Onn Yuda Onsen far exceeded our expectations. This was a stopover after visiting Yamaguchi, and Yuda Onsen is really close; its small and charming train station only 10 mn walk from the hotel (look for the numerous, legendary foxes along your way!) and there is a very convenient public parking next door. The hotel is quite new, and our room, though on the small side, had everything we wished for. The baths are shared with the next door, more upmarket hotel, and so is the dining/breakfast room : a covered path links them. If you want more privacy, there is a lovely private bath in Onn Yuda Onsen premices; 3500 y for an hour. All spaces are thoughtfully designed with understated elegance and an attention to practicality. There is a (discreet) vending machine with cold water and tea on 1st floor so you don't need to go out, and a microwave. The buffet breakfast is good, with a large range of produits. The people at the reception were lovely. And the price was, for this quality, a bargain.
