Hospitality at its best. Worth every penny. Clean and Hygienic. Hotel staff were extremely helpful and well behaved. I tried indian cuisine and it was extremely good. I'm Australian and visited during the low season and had the most incredible stay — it honestly felt like this family had a magic wand hidden somewhere. Every little problem I brought with me, they solved with such kindness and ease. From helping me get tailored clothes made, to fixing the screen on my phone, to preparing the most delicious meals, to even arranging a local traveler to accompany me to the ghats — they thought of everything. Mohit’s wife cooks the most amazing food, with a huge variety of delicious home-style Indian dishes. I probably ate 70% of my meals here, and every bite was a treat! As a solo woman traveler, I felt completely safe and cared for. When I ran into trouble with a bad Uber driver, they stepped in right away and sorted it out without hesitation. Whatever was on my to-do list, they somehow made it happen. Their home is full of warmth, laughter, and the sweetest little girls you’ll instantly fall in love with. Mohit’s mother also carries such wisdom and clarity in her words that, even when she spoke in Hindi, I found myself understanding. They’re wonderfully creative too — they hand painted uplifting murals to brighten the walls, from a cute panda to a serene Buddha, and they’ve even made cozy seats out of recycled tyre wheels. In the evenings, the open terrace is the perfect place to sit, while doves that have been nesting there for over five years coo gently in the background. The family also runs a small shop, so snacks and drinks are always within easy reach. Compared to the bustle of the city, this place is peaceful and quiet, yet still just a short walk from the Buddhist temples in Sarnath. The rooms are comfortable, with options to suit everyone — from dorms to single rooms and larger family spaces. Truly, this is the BEST place I have ever stayed. If you’re looking for safety, comfort, care, and unforgettable hospitality, look no further — you’ll find it here.

The 7 Traders Hostel was our salvation! After we arrived early in the morning on the night bus from Agra, our previously booked hotel room was unfortunately canceled. The 7 Traders Hostel confirmed our booking immediately and we were able to check into our room much earlier. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We booked a second night on the spot. The room is clean and very central. We were able to visit all the attractions on foot and to escape the heat, we always stopped off at our hostel. The price-performance ratio is really great. We are happy to recommend it to others and will be back on our next trip to India!

Amit ji is an excellent host, he sent us many recommendations for places in Varanasi. His home was very comfortable and most importantly, very clean...probably one of the cleanest places we have stayed in all of India. The bed was comfortable and the room had all we needed for a comfortable stay.The home also had a well-equipped kitchen with filtered water and anything we needed to make tea or to make something to eat. Amit ji is very nice and is always there to help with anything you might need. We enjoyed our stay at his home. The only small point is that the bedroom is next to the main road so there is some noise from the cars during the day but it's fine at night. We wish we had known about his home earlier because we would have wished to stay there longer. We will definitely stay at his home when we go back to Varanasi!
