Outstanding location. Crespo is a beautiful village, pleaceful, well-kept in an environment rich in wild flowers, butterflies, bird song..... Lovely walks from the door in multiple, different habitats. Clear, clean air. We saw many large raptors and a wild boar. Also interesting villages, towns, hermitages etc. You need a car to enjoy these. La Gandara itself is a beautiful, traditional house. Food was excellent (breakfasts and dinners). Javier and Isabella were very helpful and responsive and very knowledgeable about the local area. They went out of their way to communicate with us in English as our Spanish is very poor indeed. Friendly dinners around the large dining table (when other guests were there).

Nice guesthouse in a quiet village, in a good location to explore a very beautiful part of cantabria. Nice breakfast and evening food available if you book the day before(the food was excellent). The hosts Rosalia and Carlos were really great. We had vehicle trouble and they went out of their way to make sure we were able to get back to catch our ferry, even offering to drive us to Santander. I really can’t thank them enough.

The lady who served breakfast and completed booking out. They found space in their garage for my motorbike and the variety at breakfast was exceptional.

Pedro and Ima are amazing hosts. They took time for chats in Spanish and English and were always there to help. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. I highly recommend the home-made cream Ima sells - it is the best especially for sore lips or scars. We also bought Pedro's yummy honey. Shame we only stayed one night as there is so much to explore.
