Karole is absolutely amazing. The apartment is on a family estate, it’s beautiful and very well furnished. We felt at home, far from the tourist area, in nature. We saw a lot of toucans and other amazing birds. Thank you so much. We had a blast!

A beautiful location is set back from the main road. There were amazing trails that took you through the forest and along a river. The room was also excellent as well.

The lodge itself was fine, a bit basic but it was very spacious with a nice deck. But what really makes it worth your stay is the beautiful garden!! Birds everywhere such as toucans, aracari and parrots but you can also see horses, lizards, butterflies and more. Elias is a really kind host who helped us book a wonderful night tour and we can also recommend the breakfast. Rio Celeste is just around the corner. Overall really great value for your money!!

Brilliant stay new building which was very clean. Secluded location and seen lots of wildlife right outside our door in the morning with toucans and hummingbirds on trees just outside and even seen a sloth when leaving. Host was very friendly and helpful and would definitely recommend.

Such a nice family owned place. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The owners are amazing people, and they gave us a tour in their garden with nice plants including cacao and coffee, we also got to go for searching frogs there. Very recommended!

Malekus Mountain Lodge is a beautiful property. The Lodge is the perfect base for hiking the local parks, and the breakfasts are varied & delicious. The hosts are kind and accommodating, and we appreciated all of their excellent recommendations regarding area activities. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back soon!

It is indeed one of our best stay during a 3 weeks travel in Costa Rica. Dinora and her family are wonderful people. My stay in Bajagua turned out to be one of those huge, unexpected highlights of the journey. It exceeded my expectations and I even decided to stay extra day and night, because I felt really relaxed and chilled, like at second home thanks to my hosts care. Nature in the biocoridor between Miravalles and Tenorio is so beautiful, fresh and wild and I am not speaking only about NP Río Celeste. Acommodation was perfectly clean. Well equiped kitchen and nice bathroom with hot shower, which was neat after hiking in Tenorio park or after the night tour in the forest. Hosts can help you arrange taxi to the Río Celeste park and plan a night tour to see tapirs, frogs, perezosos and more. They are well informed about schedules of all buses to Cañas, Libreria and to Upala. Brekfeast is amazing and you can take it on the spacious terrace with garden view and get pretty close to wildlife already there, watching birds of all colors and sizes and squirels, while drinking your coffee. I stayed in dorm, the beds are super comfy and there is enough light and fresh air and plenty of outlets.

A beautiful small hotel in the "forest". Everything, especially, the breakfast area is surrounded by trees, plants, flowers. Amazing place. Breakfast was rich and tasty. The manager is extremely kind and speaks excellent English. Room was huge and WIFI was fast. They have private parking. Close to town and to a few restaurants.
