We had this delightful traditional home all to ourselves. It was a classic Japanese style with modern amenities like bathroom and kitchen. A little sun porch overlooked the cute little garden. The communication with our host was excellent ( he spoke English) and he kindly transported us to and from the train station. We made good use of the bicycles provided and really got to explore everywhere from the lake to the city moat that winds through the old town. It was a great place to explore. We stocked up on groceries from a big supermarket a short bike ride away. We stayed 2 nights and loved every minute of it.

This is an authentic onsen. The baths are amazing and the hotel also has pop ups that support local vendors.

After returning from Biwaichi Cycling, we took a nap on the tatami mats and enjoyed BBQ in the garden for dinner. At night it was a pleasure to see fireflies in the brook just nearby. It looks like it can accommodate a few more people. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends.
