The apartment is very well located, not far from the station, and has absolutely everything you could need, you can really feel that the host has thought of every detail to make guests feel at home. It’s clean, comfortable, and spacious. When I had a small issue with the air conditioning (my mistake), the host immediately came over and fixed it. He also let me extend my stay in another room to see the fireworks! The host is incredibly kind, welcoming, and always making sure everything is perfect. Honestly, worth going up the stairs for such a thoughtful place!

I’ve stayed in countless hotels around Japan but Bettei Haruki is my favorite. The staff’s hospitality exceeded my expectations especially Yuki, he was a good host. The kaseki course dinner was such a good experience. I especially enjoyed the wagyu shabu shabu. The onsens were also amazing, I loved how they were private and the ambiance was just great! I will definitely come back!

Kannawaen is an entirely non-smoking accommodation that features a garden, terrace and bar in Beppu. 100 metres from Hells of Beppu, the property is also 500 metres away from Jigokumushikobo Kannawa.

The property reached out to us beforehand to check on the needs of my kids and when I told them my daughter had a milk allergy, went out of their way to ensure that appropriate measures were taken to cater to her. We felt very welcome.

We had an exceptional experience at AMANE resort GAHAMA , and I can’t praise this hotel enough. From the moment we drove in, we were welcomed with warm smiles from the staff, making us feel right at home. The hotel’s design feels like stepping into a historical museum, with beautiful, sophisticated interiors that create a unique atmosphere. We stayed in one of the Gaham Tower rooms, featuring a stunning view of the sea, an onsen, a jacuzzi, and even a traditional tea room. Although we missed the sunrise view due to cloudy weather, I can only imagine how spectacular it must be. The hotel is well-suited for international guests, with many staff members speaking multiple languages. The location offers convenient parking and superb dining options, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Truly, everything was fabulous. One of the most memorable moments was the surprise the staff prepared for our anniversary. I had briefly mentioned our celebration when requesting a specific table for dinner, and they went above and beyond to make it special. We received a beautifully crafted artwork by a local Kitsuki artist as an anniversary gift. This thoughtful gesture made us feel incredibly appreciated, and it added a personal touch to our stay. We’ll definitely be returning in a heartbeat. AMANE resort GAHAMA exceeded every expectation, and we cannot recommend it highly enough!

SEKIYA RESORT Terrace Midoubaru is located a 15-minute drive from JR Beppu Station and boasts guestrooms with a semi open-air bath. Guests can soak in the hot spring bath.

The staff’s friendliness and detail oriented to everything. I was told to move to 2/F for better view after 2 nights stay, I did not expect it at all, and you can experience the breakfast in their sister hotel Gallery Midoubaru. I particularly appreciate the the front desk staff (a male) helped me with calling the next hotel to confirm our reservation is valid.

Amazing, large rooms with great views. The private onsen was great. Also, best restaurant we've tried in Japan (we chose the Japanese option). Would have stayed longer.

It’s a traditional Ryokan with family history in their 4th generation! We were very lucky as we got there early and were offered the big room upstairs for a little extra money and it was our best decision as the room was just spectacular! Breakfast is also highly recommended as it is a traditional Japanese breakfast, nicely prepared and served in a tatami style room. The Ryokan also counts with one of the most beautiful private outdoor Onsen in a nice garden that we have seen in all of Beppu. The owner Rumi and her staff are extremely friendly and helpful and it was a pleasure to stay at this Ryokan and we will for sure come back again!
