The cottages are quite basic, but nice old Japanese style and the view from the terrace is amazing. The host also arranged me a brand new electric mountain bike which worked very well for me to see the area around, such as Aso volcano and Takachiho gorge. The WiFi worked like a charm. Definitely recommend!

Great communication, and the owner was friendly and very accommodating. We had some questions about the check in time, and the owner was very responsive and helpful. The location is great, about a 15 minute walk to the Gorge, and about 5 minutes drive to the town and supermarkets. There is also an amazing restaurant right next door. The accomodation comes with a parking space which is very helpful. We got the whole place to ourselves, and it was very spacious. Our stay was during the winter, and the accomodation includes a heater and air conditioning which made our stay very comfortable. The bathroom and kitchen is well equipped and has good hot water and pressure. It was a wonderful experience!

Lovely staff. Couldn't do enough to help. Fantastic food. Beautiful room with its own private onsen. Car parking outside. Easy walking distance (5 minutes) from the shrine & nightly Kagura performances. About a 20 minute walk to the Gorge & the row boat station. Very helpful host! Due to super heavy rain, we needed to change our plan of next spot. The host sent us several suggestions even we have already left! Dinner portion is more than enough. A really tasteful and satisfying dinner! And the house itself is perfect for family especially having kids. Lots of space for kids burning their energy! Perfect!
