Nature Palace is a beautiful place to stay in peace. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The view from there leaves you speechless. The hosts are kind and always available. An experience worth repeating.

Great location, very friendly people, clean rooms. Less then 10 minutes walking distance from the main Market. The quest house has a great garden, its family run. Every room has its own bathroom and hot water all day. Great deal !

Nice stay but taxis are very expensive. No auto rickshaw. 1 km have to pay Rs 100

I chose this place primarily because of its proximity to the center, and also because it wasn't a hotel. I didn't think the family that runs the place would have such an impact on me. My first impression was very, very good when Mr Kolto greeted me. He asked me to rest for a few hours before heading into the city so I wouldn't get sick. It was nice that he paid attention to the guest. And even after that, they fulfilled all my requests, they were very helpful. Due to my travels, I returned several times for 2-3 nights, and it was like coming home. The rooms are clean, spotless. Comfortable, large room, equipped bathroom. It was very good that there was a kettle in the room. The place is close to the center, yet quiet because it's not right on Changspa Road, but you have to walk down a small path to get there (1-2 minutes). There's a water filter in the hallway, so I didn't have to buy plastic bottled water. When I was traveling, I could leave my larger bag there so I didn't have to carry it. I also asked for breakfast, I didn't even have to order in advance, I just knocked and it was served. A nice, attentive family, I'm grateful to have found them in Leh. I don't think I'll go anywhere else next time.

Raku Guest House in Leh offers the kind of cozy homestay experience that you envisage when you think of a homestay in a place like Ladakh. It is located in Upper Tukcha Road which is a quiet, residential locality dotted with other homestays and smaller, boutique hotels. While this keeps the guests away from the hustle of Leh's Market / Bazaar area and offers a sense of quietude, the Market and adjoining areas are still walkable at roughly 1 - 1.5 km. It is a roughly 15 minute drive from Leh Airport. The place is listed on many aggregator websites such as MakeMyTrip and we made the booking through Booking.com without any advance payment. At roughly Rs. 3000 per night for a double room (April 2023), I have to say the place offers good value. The reader may note that this does not include any meals and is the EP rate for the place. Meals were charged at 300 per head regardless of breakfast or dinner. We usually had lunch outside. The people at Raku make all the difference starting with the proprietor, Mr. Sonam, who was our nodal point for our Ladakh trip. When we began interacting over phone calls, he was polite, friendly and forthcoming to a fault, taking time to answer queries. We were keen on a good vehicle that could handle the climbing of passes and the gravelly roads in some parts of Ladakh, and an experienced driver. He arranged for both in a manner that proved to be a delightful aspect of the trip. We were allotted a driver who was of Tibetan descent and lived in the Choglamsar settlement close to Leh. Mr. Sonam also arranged for our Ecology Fees (no permits in Ladakh since 2021) and Oxygen Cylinders. He made sure that we were well attended to during our 3 night stay at his place. His mother cooked breakfast and dinner for us. Her preparations were simple, filling and delicious. Every meal satiated us in a manner that only those who know how important a meal is when the mercury plummets below zero will be able to empathize with.

I have never been in a hotel where the owner take care of their clients so much. This man was paying attention to every detail and to everything we may need. He offers much more actually than a hotel can give, always worry for our confort and stay. We are very grateful for all his hospitality and we come back for sure whenever in Leh. Thanks a lot :)
