I was really very lucky with my choice of this studio apartment in the very heart of the old medieval town of Zug with all it's architectural and cultural treasures. The location is great and very safe.Within walking distance from train station ( or you can use local buses, just 2 bus stops). Also if you want to prepare meals yourself the big 'Coop' and 'Migros' shops are within 5-7 mins of walk. Plenty of restaurants around for any most sofisticated taste for fine dining or more affordable Mediterranian or Chineese and take aways just next to the hotel. The lake and promenade just across the road! If you want to feel free from big hotels intrusive staff and noise and want to feel relaxed 'The Bijou' or 'Airhome' offers it all and even more! James the host was so kind and attentive messaging me and asking do I need more coffee supply or any other my request. Staff kept my room clean and towels were changed. The apartment itself is a sort of very spacious studio flat,ideally clean and still quiet despite central location.The host provides you with all cooking facilities you need , also fast wi-fi,socket adaptors,bath nessesities,etc. Best coffee and tea selection and milk are free of charge.All the wines and soft drinks are very sensibly charged. I also liked my king size bed with quality bed linen and spacious bathroom with a proper bath tub! And finally the money which you pay for all the comfort is just very much reasonable! We found this cozy and affordable accommodation by chance. Horgen is about 25 mins train from Zurich HB and 30 mins from Zurich airport It is a small town by Lake Zurich. The apartment is within walking distance from the train station and swimming facility. Excellent place to unwind and reboot.. Cost is a fraction of that in Zurich. We bought a rail pass that gives us unlimited rides in train, ferry, and bus in the whole zurich canton. This makes horgen an even better choice to stay. Although Chez Esther is a homestay, there is complete privacy as Esther is usually in her own room. Our own 26 sq m room has a desk, lounge area, TV, and many books. We have a dedicated toilet just outside our room solely for our use. We can use the oven and refrigerator. We can take our meals in one of two lovely terraces.
