Lovely family! The experience of staying in a family home in such an isolated village in the heart of the mountains is amazing. No English so we used Google translate and mime and lots of smiles! They speak Azeri and the local village language. I am vegetarian and the food was excellent (lentil soup, fried potatoes, fresh vegetables, plov rice, etc.. Plus meat if you want it). And the lovely wife made me a cake for my birthday! So kind (and delicious). We walked to the next village (2-3 hours each way on a very easy path) and walked up into the hills and down to the river. Dramatic scenery. And we found a beer in the local tiny shop! Super clean outhouse squat toilet (bring your own toilet paper) and hot shower. Lumpy beds but you can easily just put a mattress on the floor. A bit chilly in our bedroom so bring your warm jersey. Bonus: Wifi and mobile data available. Fully recommend. Thank you!

A wonderful guest house with a really friendly, open and fun family! The rooms were exceptional value, the first night I stayed in the one in the main family house and then the new one they have built by the entrance to the garden, which has a fantastic modern bathroom with hot shower etc, - an incredible effort for such a remote mountain town! I had every meal here with the family and the food was incredibly tasty - dolma, soups, potatoes from their own garden. You can learn loads about Xinaliq and the history of the area from the family who will always engage you in conversation with enthusiasm and warmth.

Elnur was very much helpful. He took care of everything. Introduced me to the place and made sure I would feel comfortable. The view from the window was imaginary. I couldn't believe it was real.
