The best service on the island !!! Amazing family-run hotel. Delicious food. The room meets European standards, featuring tiled floors, hot water, and various amenties such as a hair dryer. The room was exceptionally clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. We also booked the morning safari service through the hotel, which was an unforgettable experience.

Clean, smells good, welcome drink, great hosts, perfect location. Nothing like most con hotels in Udawalawe. The owners really care about you and your stay and offer a fair price for the safari. They went the extra mile and even offered me a ride to catch an early bus a few kilometers away. They even texted afterwards to make sure I travelled well.

Our stay at Udawalawe Elephant Safari Lodge was absolutely amazing. We arrived at night and were warmly welcomed with a refreshing drink and a clear plan for the next day. Suru, our host, was incredibly helpful and even carried our bags into the room for us. The rooms are simple but very comfortable—perfect for a short night’s rest before heading out on safari in the morning. At 6 a.m., we started the day with a hot cup of coffee/tea before setting off. Suru’s off-road safari vehicle was very comfortable, and it only took a short drive to reach the entrance of the national park. The safari itself was smooth and unforgettable—we spotted over 10 different species of animals, including three families of elephants! Suru made sure we felt safe the whole time and even took some wonderful photos of us to remember the trip. Back at the lodge, we ended our stay with a refreshing dip in the pool and a truly delicious homemade breakfast (10/10—absolutely to die for!). All in all, I can highly recommend staying at this lodge when visiting Udawalawe National Park. The location is ideal, and the warm hospitality made our visit extra special.

We had a truly unforgettable stay, thanks to the breathtaking Mango Safari Camping and the outstanding dedication of the team. We spent one night at the charming and peaceful campsite and were warmly welcomed. We went to the Elephant Transit Home which was an unforgettable moment in our life where many baby elephants are bottle-fed by humans. The actions and demonstrations done by baby elephants were amazing and somewhat similar to human babies, which was funny to see. We were treated to a traditional Sri Lankan dinner by the bonfire – the food was very delicious. In the morning, we enjoyed a jeep safari in the Udawalawe National Park, we could see ample of elephants feeding on grass, deer, water buffalo, and birdlife of the area and the scenery was simply stunning.

Loved the stay. The hosts were very friendly and provided all meals (Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast) which made everything extremely convenient. The hosts also provide a safari option which is good value for money for a family. Highly recommended.

Do not miss this place. Our stay in John's Safari Villa was on of the best in our Sri Lankan trip. The host is a very nice guy and he organized the safari and it was fantastic. We saw planty of elephants and so many of other animals. We had a really good dinner here local rice and curry that you should not miss. If you plan to come to Udawalawa, this is the perfect place.

The room was fantastic and I had one of the best food in the whole trip, both for dinner and breakfast. Also, the host is very nice. He also helped me with the tour to the park. Very recommended place. I would def go back again.

What an amazing stay! The cottage itself is brand new and very nicely equipped. The staff was beyond words kind and helpful. They are very responsive on WhatsApp and always near the cottage so easily reachable if you need something. They gave us advice on transport, on things to do, etc. The location itself is on quiet place in the woods so you will hear so many birds singing. It is also close to Safri to whom they organize an amazing tour with breakfast.
