we rented out the whole Hanok for 4 people. it was a wonderful and cozy place. The staff was so kind and came to pick us up at the bus stop when we arrived. She gave us a tour of the home and gave us recommendations on the city. We will stay there again in the future.

It has been an amazing experience. You have to really stay in this place as it is magical with all its history, quietness and views! Seunghwan was very kind and he orgenized a taxi for us to the train station and he also drove us to the village. We were also upgraded and had a whole house just for ourselves. The breakfests were very tasty and plenty. Really so not hesitate to stay in this place on the other side of the river even if you do not have a car, like we did not, and it was not a problem at all. Plus the futon beds were very comfortable :) Thank you for everything!

Staying at the Head House of the Andong Kim Clan was an unforgettable experience. This Hanok is part of the Folklore Cultural Heritage of South Korea, and you can feel the history in every corner. I was told the home was built in 1779, though the landmark sign outside suggests it may date even earlier. The owner, who was born in the very room we stayed in, and his wife were gracious and welcoming hosts. The setting is beautifully rural and quiet—there’s no television, but instead you can enjoy the sounds of nature, whether it’s the gentle rain or the night chorus outside your window as you drift off to sleep. In the morning, we were served fresh corn cake and a crisp apple, a simple but heartfelt touch that made the stay even warmer. As with any Hanok, the sleeping arrangements are traditional: you’ll be resting on pads placed directly on the heated floor. The pads here were not the thickest, so I doubled mine, but I still found the experience authentic and comfortable. The traditional pillows were surprisingly pleasant. The bathroom facilities—a toilet and combined sink/shower—are located in a separate building just a short, covered walk away, which added to the sense of staying in a historic setting rather than detracting from it. Overall, this is not a luxury stay in the conventional sense, but it is a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in Korean history and culture. Any small inconveniences are far outweighed by the charm, authenticity, and hospitality you’ll experience. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a deeper connection to Korea’s heritage.

Local breakfast a little surprising but very good- Korean type which was a great experience. The owner is charming and he is the 16th generation of the owners. They own the house since XVI century. Great place for real experience, very private. Location in front of Andong Hahoe.

The kitchen and lounge are so cosy and beautifully decorated, comfy beds with heated blankets, a real treat. Brand new, modern ensuite bathroom, everything's spotless and very well kept. 10 minutes walk to the city centre, easy to find, lovely garden, incredibly quiet, not a sound day and night.

Best place to stay in Andong, historical pavillon structure immersed in the nature on the river walk, with a great view of the Hahoe village. Extremely quiet and comfortable. Superb typical breakfast served in a private dining room. The owner Ryu was extremely helpful and kind in assisting me in my travel schedule.
