We loved staying in this hotel! The hotel was close to the train station and in the center part of town. The rooms were very nice and very clean, and the staff was awesome as they were more than willing and even went out of their way to answer our questions and help us in any way they could. The breakfast was delicious with lots of great options to choose from.

An amazing host Lise - a very helpful, knowlegable and friendly person with who I had a very intersting conversation. I would honestly recomend this BnB to anyone. Such a lovely athmosphere built by Lise. I can’t wait to find some time and go back :) A wonderful breakfast served by Lise with a super cheap price. Amazing, tasty, fresh and healthy. We stayed 2 nights beginning of June. If you like traditional places, you should visit Waldgasthaus Lehmen. You would be surrounded by natural forest with a view on Appenzell Alps. One of the most common sound during the day is various bells on cow necks. We were lucky to see how Appenzell farmers bring their cows to the mountains. The farmers have very beautiful cloths! On Saturday we saw a group of farmers, who came in their traditional dresses to Lehmen restaurant and had a few hours of singing and enjoying food. The restaurant is very good, if you like Swiss food. You must be hiking in that region, otherwise food might be too heavy. I had pork steak, pork schnitzel and beef steak with noodles and mushrooms. All dishes were very tasty. You have to try local beer! And Lehmen whisky! Highly recommended! Very nice! Service is impeccable, fast and attentive. All personnel is very friendly. Breakfast is wonderful! I would prefer, if it started at 7 instead of 8… Our room 17 was great, soft pillows, comfy beds, bath, simple but cozy design. The hotel has a playground for kids. Parking is huge.

Nicely situated within 200 mtrs from train and bus station. Train to Cablecar at Ebenalp, train to cablecar Kronberg and bus to cablecar Hohenkasten nearby. Free card voor 3 cablecars and train and musea in Appenzell etc upon 3 day stay. Good breakfast. Great coffee. Very friendly staff. Nicely priced

Ideal location, not too far from the train station. We started all of our walks from the hotel which was very convenient. Beautiful views from our room. The owners were very polite and friendly. Our breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed a lovely evening meal there also. We will definitely return.
