The location is one of the best. All attractions are within 10 minutes walk. Castle just around the corner. The place itself is spacious and the host super friendly and nice. He showed us the best cafe inside the castle. One of the best exclusive onewe have seen in Albania.

Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at Castle House. It is a wonderfully historic, sympathetically restored house within the old, Roman castle walls of Elbasan. Gjon, the host, speaks perfect English, has a great sense of humour and is clearly passionate about the history behind the house (which has remained in his family). He was helpful and kind, allowing us to arrange a much later checkout for 25 EUROs extra - this was really important for us as we were then able to enjoy a wonderful lunch within the city walls and have a leisurely departure onward to Tirana in the late afternoon. We had the whole house to ourselves - everything was clean and well-maintained. The location was perfect for us as, not only was it within the old city wall, it was also just a 10 minute stroll to the main bus stop/departure point. If ever you are visiting Elbasan (which isn't on every tourist's itinerary but is well worth a one night stop, especially for the food - we had our best meal of our Albanian adventure at a restaurant not too far from Gjon's place), Castle House is definitely worth your consideration.

The rooms were smaller but cozy. The bathroom is shared, but only for a few rooms. What I want to highlight is the owner's attitude. Right next door is a wonderful restaurant where the smiling owner took care of us as if we were his own. The food served by the young chef was amazing. It was our best experience with Albanian cuisine, where tradition and modernity were combined. And as the cherry on the cake was the luxurious breakfast. Thank you very much again, we will remember.

Beautiful and quiet, every detail is in the right place. Healthy space, lovely people. The cave and the river canyon are magnificent. *If you are coming from Tirana, make sure to know where and at what time to take the bus.

A beautiful location on the river, the owners did not speak English but were very pleasant and accomodating, the breakfast with homegrown products was delicious (and dinner too but that was paid for separately), the room was amazing and clean, loved the shower. The outdoor restaurant portion was so calming being able to look at the river, and I loved the chickens and chicks running around. Easy access from the road.

Very nice place with comfortable beds and very kind and generous owners . They gave us the opportunity to taste their home grown vegetables and fruits and were amazing!
