Everything was perfect! Clean, bright rooms, large terrace with palm trees and other equatorial plants, particularly tasty food, well-located location, interesting excursions and very welcoming and helpful staff in making transfers to the island. The Island Very highly recommended for a peaceful and authentic experience on the small island of Dhidhdhoo, South Ari Atoll (pron. DeeDoo). With a population of only 213, there are all facilities one could need including a small hospital, pharmacy, grocery and souvenir shops and even a new playground. The island is also immaculately maintained with all trails through the jungle swept regularly. Hotel This is a small, newly built guesthouse which is in excellent condition and immaculately clean. The rooms have very comfortable beds with ensuite bathrooms and a porch opening directly onto the beach. A charming communal eating area even has a free soft drinks fridge which is a nice touch. The excellent chef, Haroon, prepares breakfast, lunch and dinner (all included in the price) and is most friendly and helpful. Scuba Diving Do not have any concerns about the quality and professionalism of the dive centre even though this is a remote island. The diving school has only been open for a year so all the equipment is almost brand new and of very high quality. The dive instructor, Midhoo, is possibly the best I have ever dived with and has 30 years' experience in running dive centres across the Maldives. He improved my skills considerably over just a couple of days. As this is a small location, I was the only diver and we managed to see grey and whitetip reef sharks, turtles, rays, fabulous corals and and abundance of fish. The drift dives were a particular highlight and I felt completely safe during these trips. I could not have wished for more from the boat Captain Yoosuf and special thanks to the dive assistant, Mohamed for his attention to my safety and good humour. If you want a truely peaceful escape with no crowds, beautiful deserted beaches and a top quality diving experience, this is hard to beat, and for 3 dives per day including all equipment hire, a genuine bargain.

Very hospital and friendly hosts, a lot of marine activities, and the local vibes only found in this small inhabited island. The local family hosts are very friendly to us. Even though we only had 4 days stay there, they helped arranging all the marine activities into the limited schedule, so that we succeeded in watching Dolphins, Turtles and swimming with Mantas and Whalesharks! Located in the South Ari Atoll where those sea animals are always around, this hotel is definitely a hidden gem for the marine life lovers. Although the facility is not so fancy as upscale resort hotels, the guest house and our room was full of hospitality with their hand made decorations. White Tern is an only hotel in Dhidhdhoo island which has probably only 100-200 population and is tiny island that 30 mins walk is enough to browse all the islands. The island itself has very local atmosphere and we enjoyed having coffee, local snacks and the local chewing tobacco with local residents at one of the only two tea shops in Dhidhdhoo (In fact, as there are only two small tea shops in the island, if you want something more proper dinner, eating at White Tern is the best option). Communication is very easy and very responsive on WhatsApp. Before the stay and even during the stay, you can always talk to them on WhatsApp.

Unbelievable establishment with 5 star service all round. Rooms are spotless. Food is delicious. The Spa is the best we have ever experienced. Nothing can prepare you for those white beaches and turquoise waters. Postcard stuff.

I was here also three ago and now I have found a lot of things improved. All restaurants and bars open, much cleaner and neater from some points of view, part of the furniture at the bars and the sunbeds on the beach painted in bright colors, decorations in the reception area much better.

Little heaven for 2 of us :) It was hard to get there because it's located 2 and half hour from Male airport. But after getting didhdhoo island, everything was perfect! Private beach just in front of the accommodation was the best part. And Didhdhoo is just near the whale shark habitat, I could meet a whale shark just in 30 min after departing! Also thank you for packing breakfast when I take a ferry in early morning :)

Haleem and his family made our stay extremely enjoyable, they are such lovely people. They put on a dinner for New Year's Eve on the beach, which was special. We got to see a Whale Shark as well as Mantarays, Dolphins, Turtles and numerous fish. The accommodation is eco and not luxurious, but clean and comfortable. There are only 60 people on the island and we had the beach to ourselves. If you are not wanting to pay thousands for luxury, I thoroughly recommend White Tern
