Beautiful practícal and comfortable cabins right by the water, wonderful views of the lake and mountains, very friendly staff. Probably the friendliest and best customer service we encountered during our whole stay in Italy!!

very big and completely furnished apartment, with a relaxing atmosphere. The hosts were absolutely amazing!! The owner runs a restaurant downstairs and the food is marvelous. Star restaurant worthy.

The location was amazing. We stayed in a junior suite with lake view and we had direct access to the lake. Room service was very good and efficient. Breakfast was ok. The view was stunning from our suite.

An old fashioned family run house with splendid views accross the lake. The 2 rooms suite ( in the original house ) is really fabulous. The 2 brothers running the place are very friendly and serviable.

Location was close to everything and place was quiet and comfortable.

Hotel Splendid is aptly named. A hotel full of old world charm and attentive staff that will ensure you have a pleasant stay. I was on a road trip travelling with friends and its location, reputation and the fact that it has secure underground car parking available was a deciding factor in its selection. Others have complained about the €19 extra charge for the car parking but it wasn't unexpected and it gave me peace of mind and a good night's sleep knowing my car was safe. Check in staff were warm and welcoming and the hotel itself exudes an old world charm. Hotel Splendid is one of the very few hotels in Baveno that is on the shore of Lake Maggiore with it's own private beach and dock for boats. The terrace outside is a perfect location to sit and have a drink whilst watching the world go by. The bedroom furnishings are in keeping with the grandeur of days gone by adding to the overall ambience of the hotel. The bedroom was large, well appointed and spotlessly clean - with temperatures outside hitting 34c during the day and 25c at night efficient air-conditioning was very welcome. Breakfast was very good - a self serve buffet with a big selection of meats, cheeses, croissants, fruit, pastries, cake and cereals. I especially liked the fresh honeycomb which is not often seen these day's. Evening meals and wines were superb with a varied selection on offer. Everything was cooked to perfection and served by attentive waiters and waitresses. Wanting to explore the palaces on nearby islands we took the hotels advice and booked a private water taxi. For €100 the water taxi picked us up at the hotel and transported 6 of us to the three islands we wanted to visit - dropping us off and returning to pick us up when we made the phone call. The skipper also made a good recommendation on where to take lunch on 'the restaurant island'. That the Hotel Splendid is only rated as a 4* hotel is a surprise - for me it deserves a 5* rating.

The hotel is amazing! Our room had a large balcony with a stunning view of Lake Maggiore and the Borromean Islands — truly breathtaking. The hotel has its own private beach with sun loungers. We stayed for two nights, and I wish it had been longer. During the day, we went out to explore the nearby attractions, but I would have happily spent a full day just relaxing at the hotel: swimming in the lake, sipping coffee or an Aperol Spritz on the balcony... :) The hotel offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast was tasty, although the selection was not very large. We had dinner at the hotel once — the menu is limited, and I expected the prices to be a bit lower than in Milan. I was worried it might be noisy in the room since the hotel is near the road, but it's not a busy highway — there’s very little traffic, and the room was quiet both day and night. The hotel provides free parking. It’s only a 5-minute drive to Stresa, where you can enjoy a lovely walk along the lakeside promenade and have dinner.

Exceptional stay near Lake Maggiore We had a wonderful stay at Casa Lari Baveno 2. The location is excellent — just a 3-minute walk to the public beach, 5 minutes to a grocery store, and 5 minutes to the lakeside promenade with great restaurants and the ferry terminal. The apartment was clean, well-equipped, and very comfortable. The kitchen-studio had everything we needed, including a dishwasher and washing machine. Each room has its own air conditioning, which made a big difference during the warmer days. One of the highlights was the spacious terrace with beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains — perfect for meals and relaxing. Private parking on site was also very convenient. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Baveno or Lake Maggiore. We would definitely stay here again!

The staff were friendly and helpful and always offered us drinks when we went to the sister hotel's lobby. The location was good, close to the town, but the views weren't really that good. The apartment was very clean. The beach that we could use as part of the hotel was a nice touch.
