Beautiful place to stay a few minutes away from the cruise port. A clean apartment, comfortable bed, and fresh bread baked by Deborah in the morning were very appreciated. In a peaceful neighbourhood, I was lucky enough to have a bbq with the neighbours. Tesla- the Beautiful dog came as a bonus for me, we were always chilling outside together, as I love dogs so much. Deborah is a person of knowledge, she thought me a lot about the history of St Lucia. If you are for a cultural and spiritual stay in St Lucia, I would not hesitate to stay with Deborah.

1.3 miles from Vigie Beach in Castries, Multigen-Lip of the City Escape provides accommodations with access to wellness packages. Such an amazing and helpful host. The property is walking distance to the market and local restaurants. Photos do not do justice as the property is much bigger: very well equipped and roomy kitchen, good shower, clean bathroom and comfortable bed. Communication was great from the moment we booked the place and the host went up and beyond to help with everything. My phone got stolen (while walking around the city) and the host did all one possibly could to help me find it and he miraculously found it, and put us back on track of enjoying the beautiful island. Thank you Roseman and family.

I enjoyed Castries.
I enjoyed Castries. Getting around is an adventure - coming from a place where we drive on the other side of the road. It's not difficult to adjust. The people, in general, are mostly friendly. Except for restaurants, no one takes larger bills and the banks close early. The food was great everywhere we went and it's a beautiful island! I'll certainly vacation here again!

I enjoyed the Cacoa Chocolate Factory and the chocolate. The mud bath; the water falls the botanical gardens and the Piton mountains. It’s mountainous which makes for very beautiful views of the island.

Castries town centre is charming with a nice market and...
Castries town centre is charming with a nice market and several excellent restaurants. People of St.Lucia are really friendly and always happy to help you out. There are plenty of shops stocking local and some international goods, especially the shops on-route to Rodney Bay. Choc beach near Castries was beautiful, clean & quiet with very calm sea waves. Excellent for swimming including children. We found the beach to be very quiet all day long with only a handful of people passing by, so ideal for sunbathing too. The Sunsets are magical.

Castries is a harsh city.
Castries is a harsh city. Not violet. But difficult to spend time in. It's not setup for tourists who are not in a resort or on a cruise. There are very few sit-down atmospheric restaurants and bars. It's a city for the locals and its a poor community. Everyone I met was very nice and friendly. They are wonderful people. But it's not what you might call 'charming'. The roads and traffic are a nightmare and a day here is enough. Rodney Bay is a much more vacation friendly place. I mostly enjoyed my stay here, but be prepared for confronting the results of colonial abuse and corruption. Frankly the locals are demonstrating a high degree of humility, love and forgiveness despite what our western ancestors have done to them, and are still doing. I learned something very important about western entitlement by staying here.

If you want to get around to other islands and Gros Islet...
If you want to get around to other islands and Gros Islet Street Party, make sure you negotiate the price for a round trip. Make SURE you emphasize round trip. Some taxi men are so money hungry and will give you a price of round trip, but then try and tell you they meant one way. DON'T let them do that. Get clear clarification for your round trip.
