The manager Madhawa was kind, helpful, efficient and very competent!! Pradeep and the other young men took us on tours and wanted to feel at home and showed us the beautiful surroundings of the hotel! We went on an all inclusive plan and loved it!

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Mailagama Cinnamon Residence is a recently renovated guest house set in Kataragama, 21 km from Situlpawwa. This was our second visit to Mailagama Cinnamon Residence and we were truly happy to see again the owners of the hotel, Indira and her husband. The hotel is located in a picturesque place among green rice fields. We loved walking around the area - there are large lakes nearby, and there are few people around, but an incredible number of peacocks. A real kingdom of peacocks. The room was clean and spacious, with a balcony with a great view. There was also a big shared terrace to work online or to do yoga. The fans helped to cope with the heat, which was important for us. We really liked the Srilankan food at the hotel - delicious and served with great elegance. Manager Inbaraj was always attentive and helped us with any questions. On his advice, we visited two temples - Rock Temple where you can see dozens of funny monkeys and Kataragama Maha Devalaya. Both places are interesting and atmospheric, especially the latter, which is famous for its festivals throughout the country. We hope to come back here next year to see the beauty of the nature and to feel the special friendly atmosphere.

With pool views, Tranquil Wild is located in Tanamalwila and has a restaurant, room service, snack bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. All we needed was just relax and take same rest in the quiet place after long way on motorbike and we received exactly this. Staff was very nice, professional, and the food was good. There is a swimming pool and beautiful garden where you can see a lot of animals. Room is also very well equipped.

Set in Tissamaharama, 2.5 km from Tissa Wewa, Nehansa Resort and safari offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. We were very warmly welcomed by the staff. Very clean room and bathroom. The staff is very kind and friendly. We were given a short trip by the lake in the evening to see the wilderness and bats. The lunch and dinner can be served a la carte. The food prepared at their restaurant is delicious. The safari was very well organised and coordinated. At the end of safari we were picked up and dropped to the bus station. Strongly recommend this resort for those who love the nature.

Situated in Tissamaharama, 4.5 km from Tissa Wewa, LakeSide Cabana Tissamaharama features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Dream location on lake side. Very good food and happy, smiling and very helpful owners. I would go there again.

Situated 2.9 km from Tissa Wewa, New Vilard offers a garden, and air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi. Fantastic value for a great private room! Clean, a comfortable bed, aircon, hot showers, and a huge breakfast waiting when I returned from safari! Lovely family who helped organised safari & transport to Ella as well, and got me prices much better than other hotels were offering.

Set within 2.2 km of Tissa Wewa and 27 km of Bundala Bird Sanctuary in Tissamaharama, Amazon Cabanas provides accommodation with seating area. Everything was fine! And many thanks to the wonderful hostess for breakfast and to her husband for the safari tour!

Offering a restaurant and free bikes, MOON LIGHT Guest House is located just 1.1 km from the Tissamaharama Bus Station and 3.2 km from the beautiful Tissa Lake. The best stay in Sri Lanka. The host was very attentive and kind. The room was very clean and big, and had a safari vibe🙂. The food was absolutely delicious - fish with pineapples was my favourite. The host organised our safari, wake us in early morning, gave us breakfast to go, and we had lunch after trip. We met an elephant on way back to hotel, and fed him with bananas. So I recommend not to eat bananas and save it for elephants) I’d recommend to stay there for 2 or 3 days, cause after safari you want to rest and lay in hammock. I”ll return to stay here, I’m sure)

Hilton Yala Resort has an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, a garden and private beach area in Yala. 21 km from Situlpawwa and 22 km from Tissa Wewa, the property provides a terrace and a bar. The hotel was very well designed and the amenities were excellent. Specific call out to the main restaurant where we had great service from the staff & chef (Jerome) and delicious meals catered to our taste. Being in the forest, it was a lovely experience to walk around the compound and wake up to the sight of animals within the vicinity (e.g. monkeys or squirrels in the morning). Would highly recommend this resort for visitors looking to do a safari at Yala National Park.
