What an adorable chalet in the middle of nowhere . Gives you enough privacy and makes you feel like a royalty .The owner was extremely helpful and polite . Even though we arrived later than the time decided , we were still greeted with a hot cup of tea and snacks . The place has all the fixtures of a western 5 star resort . The outdoor toilet was by itself a charming experience of the nature . I would highly recommend this place if you want to have a great stay, feel royal , want to experience first hand hospitality of Srilankans and excellent warm breakfast.

With river views, Silent River Cottage is set in Udawalawe and has a restaurant and a 24-hour front desk. It is situated 16 km from Udawalawe National Park and features room service. We got to stay in the new accommodation across the road, so comfortable and spacious, in the middle of the banana trees, surrounded by lush nature. We even saw a toucan! We had a great swim in the nearby river with the host’s kids (so cute and sweet), by the way they do everything as a family so don’t be surprised if they come wish you good morning as a group lol. Of course we also did a safari organised by the host and it was definitely worth it. We really recommend this place - a bit secluded from the center of Udawalawa but you don’t need to go outside, everything is provided.

Ibis is located in Udawalawe and features a pool with a view and garden views. We are Paola and Silvano from Italy, travelling through Sri Lanka by bicycle. We spent three nights at Ibis and were welcomed by Sarangha as if we were family. Sarangha and her husband Sarath are very kind and helpful people, always smiling. Sarangha took care of us with grace and kindness, always ready to respond to every need, from the tuk tuk to the safari. The most important thing is that she told us that she could organize it for us at a good price (excluding the entrance ticket to the park) but without any obligation, initially we did not want to organize it and instead, after visiting the Elephant Transit Home, we changed our minds, it was an excellent choice and also the person who accompanied us was kind and trustworthy. We also had dinner at Ibis, very tasty home made meals and also a good breakfast. The room was confortable clean and spacious, we chose the one at ground floor, but there are also at the first floor with balcony. We also could do the laundry. We didn't use the pool, but it's very scenic and relaxing even if you don't want to swim. We also had some time to talk with Sarangha and Sarath and it was really interesting share some experiences with this lovely family. Thank you very much for everything!

Everything was impeccably clean, which added to my comfort. Additionally, the host was incredibly helpful, assisting me from A to Z in planning the safari. The pricing for the safari was very convenient compared to other options. Overall, this hotel offered a memorable experience that I highly recommend!
