Located in Koyasan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, 高野山 宿坊 常喜院 -Koyasan Shukubo Jokiin- offers free private parking. All rooms include a flat-screen TV. Our visit to Koyasan and stay at Jokiin Temple was one of the most unforgettable highlights of our trip to Japan. The experience was truly special, and we are deeply grateful to our hosts for their warm hospitality. Being welcomed into their temple and witnessing the magical morning ceremony was an honor—an experience we will cherish forever!

Hotel Kirinosato Takahara features outdoor and indoor hot spring baths, only a 2-minute walk from the World Heritage Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes. I love the design of the room which is very cozy and modern. The location is right at the center of Takahara and looking out the window, we can appreciate the whole Mountain View. I also love the foods. The host is very kind and accommodating that they agree to help us ship a package which is outside the service they listed to provide.

Located in the sacred Mount Koya area, 高野山 宿坊 桜池院 -Koyasan Shukubo Yochiin- is a historic temple and an accommodation for visitors. This place exceeded my expectations. I did not expect the room to be so nice, large, and have a wonderful table and seat space with a large window and small garden view. The place is just beautiful, and I was very appreciative that I could join in the morning ceremony. Truly a wonderful experience.

Set in Nachikatsuura, 1.4 km from Nachi Beach and 1.1 km from Fudarakusanji Temple, 那智温泉 南の湯 - Nachi Manga Onsen offers air conditioning. A hot spring bath is available for guests. We stayed there after finishing the Kumano Kodo trail and were delighted to have a private onsen! The location is very practical, right next to the bus stop and there are a couple of bikes available to make the short trip into town to have dinner. The place is clean, spacious and the bed comfortable. Most importantly Tetsuji was super nice and helpful! We shipped our luggage ahead of us and when it arrived (several days before us) it was broken. Tetsuji called the delivery service for us to help with trying to get reimbursement and then kindly provided us tape to fix it up until we could get a new one, 10/10 would recommend.

Located in Katsuragi, Sanso Amanosato features 5-star accommodation with private balconies. A hot spring bath is available for guests, along with an open-air bath. Sanso Amanosato was the highlight of our trip to Japan. Nestled in nature, this luxury retreat offers outstanding service, spacious rooms with private wooden baths, and several beautifully equipped private onsens. We were warmly welcomed with champagne, and all in-room drinks were complimentary. The dinner was exceptional, and the breakfast, served in a wooden box, was just as refined. The hotel organized free transfers from Hashimoto Station and to the must-see village of Koyasan. A truly unforgettable experience.

I also appreciated the clean, modern cabin. Yusuke and the whole staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, even offering a shuttle to and from Koyasan twice per day. Beautiful valley. there is a bridge that allows you to get down to the rivers edge to enjoy the water.

Candeo Hotels Nankai Wakayama is set in Wakayama, within 1.7 km of The Museum of Modern Art, Wakayama and 1.7 km of Wakayama Prefctual Museum. The design of the hotels from bed linen to curtains and the room design aesthetic was beautiful, sleek and modern, with an overall art deco feel to the rooms. The onsen and sky lounge area on the top floor was beautiful and lotions and shampoos from the hotel were gorgeous. The outdoor pool overlooking the city, the river and the bridges and railway tracks was a great vista to overlook while outdoor bathing. The place was super clean and the staff were always friendly and very helpful. A very relaxing stay and the hotel is located over the municipal Wakayama library and the railway station which is a fantastic connection to Kansai Airport. A lovely stay was had by all in the Kandeo Hotel in Wakayama.
