The view over the fjord from our cabin was simply extraordinary. The cabin was cosy, clean and well equipped, with comfortable beds. Staff was great. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Both were very good. The dinner menu was limited to 3 starters, 3 main courses and 2 desserts, which we understand because everything was home made and fresh.

Featuring river views, Hjartarstaðir Guesthouse offers accommodation with patio, around 37 km from Gufufoss. There is a private entrance at the bed and breakfast for the convenience of those who stay.... The best guesthouse we stayed in Iceland. Super clean, cozy and yet with all the utilities you may need even for a longer stay. The location is great, quiet with no other buildings close to it, perfect to see the northern lights.

Set in a renovated farmhouse, this guest house is located by Lake Lagarfljót in Eglisstadir village. Love the people at the hotel! Staff and service were phenomenal. Food was fantastic!

Set in Skjöldólfsstaðir, Hotel Studlagil offers 3-star accommodation with a garden, a restaurant and a bar. The hotel features family rooms. At the hotel, all rooms come with a desk. What didn’t I like…the stay was wonderful at Hotel Studlagil. The staff person was friendly and even shared a lovely conversation with us in the evening. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in this area of Iceland!

By Iceland’s easternmost fjord Neskaupstadur, this aparthotel features modern Scandinavian style decór and panoramic fjord views from the balcony. Large living room, comfortable beds, excellent view! The apartment was very clean and well maintained.
